- It's do or die in a redemption battle that will leave castaways clinging for their lives. Meanwhile, a potentially game-changing blindside at tribal leaves one castaway on the outs, and the hidden immunity idol falls into the hands of an unlikely castaway.—Anonymous
- Previously on 'Survivor': Vytas was the odd man out at Galang. At Tadhana, Aras thought he was in control but Tyson was putting together a majority alliance against Aras and his brother Vytas. When Galang lost immunity, Laura B. blurted to Vytas that the plan was for him to get voted out, but the women decided they couldn't trust her.
Back at camp: Vytas thanks the women for their trust and support and assures them that Aras will join them to make them a solid group of five. Tina lays out the new plan for the five and tells Monica that she's fifth on the list. Monica isn't wild about this development.
Redemption Island: Laura thinks it's ridiculous that Vytas wasn't voted out.
The next morning, the trio at Redemption Island learns that the winner of the next duel will get back into the game and the other two go home. Before the challenge begins, Ciera tells us she has mixed feelings about her mother getting back into the game because it could hamper her own strategy.
The three players have to hang on to a pole for as long as possible. The last one remaining gets back in the game.
John is the first to lose his footing and slides off the pole. Laura B. starts to slip and eventually slips all the way down.
Before Laura gets back in the game, everyone has to drop their buffs because they are merged. Laura gets a chance to keep or give the hidden immunity idol away, and she drops it into the fire.
Aras is excited about the merge and has his own ideas of how it's going to be with Vytas, putting his brother and Katie with Tyson, Gervase, Monica and Tina.
Back at camp with a merged tribe: They players get back to camp to find a feast waiting for them. Hayden is starting to wonder what's going to happen next.
Tyson and Gervase are wondering about Laura and hoping that Ciera is going to bring her on board. Ciera takes Laura out to the beach and tells her the plan is to vote Aras out next. Laura is pleasantly surprised to learn that she's in a fairly powerful spot, and Ciera reiterates to Laura, "Just don't play hard."
Tyson goes for a walk to look for the immunity idol, based on what little information Hayden gave him, second hand, after the tribe switch. He finds it and says he isn't going to tell anyone about it.
Vytas and Aras talk some strategy and they're fully on board with each other, until Aras mentions Tyson. Vytas doesn't think they need to keep Tyson. They decide they need to get rid of Laura next. Vytas mentions that "if people are smart" they'll vote out one of the brothers, but he decides they aren't.
That night, Monica pulls Tyson aside and tells him about how Tina told her she's number five. He decides to tell her about the plan to vote Aras out to "show her a little love" and "respect," but he's getting annoyed with her.
Immunity challenge: It's a memory challenge for individual immunity, where the players have to remember the sequence of symbols shown to them by Jeff. Monica is the first to go. Caleb and Katie go out next. Tyson and Tina follow. Hayden goes next.
Laura, Ciera, Vytas, Aras and Gervase are the only ones left after the first round. Laura is the first person eliminated in the second round. Ciera goes next. It's down to Vytas, Aras and Gervase. Gervase goes next, leaving Aras and Vytas. Finally, Vytas wins immunity over his brother.
Back at camp: Vytas says he didn't need immunity but he needed to beat his brother. Vytas then says that he and his brother "got this beach on lock" but says nobody "has the guts to do anything about it."
Aras lays out the plan to split the votes between Laura and Ciera.
Laura takes Ciera for a walk and starts talking some paranoid strategy, thinking that Aras might have an idol.
Gervase is getting a little nervous about people not sticking to Tyson's plan to vote out Aras.
Tribal Council: Tyson says he's sure that the couples will want to work together. Aras says that's true but they would have to get help from many others.
Jeff notes that Laura and Ciera could be swing votes. Laura tells Jeff she loves that she's able to get advice from her daughter, who she calls a great social player.
The vote: Katie writes down Ciera's name, Gervase writes down Aras' name and Aras writes down Laura's name.
Jeff reads the votes: Laura, Laura, Ciera, Ciera, Aras, Aras, Aras, Aras, and the eight person voted out is Aras. "Well played, guys. Well played," Aras says as he gets up.
