A nice journey.

I enjoyed very much this journey through the Pyrénées-Orientales: beautiful landscapes and nice encounters.

There are some interesting aspects of the region: Port-Vendres ( the fisherman Gerald Martinez and the fishing "au lamparo"-the the fishing of sardines and anchovies-, Gérald Planques-the tugboat helping to the cargo to enter in the port, the exotic fruits coming from Africa), Argelès-sur-Mer ( the summer resort, Julien the postman, the camping sites, the lifeguards and the 7 kilometers long beach, Le Racou, the last beach before Spain), Serralongue and Saint-Laurent de Cerdan ( the world of the espadrille, the espadrille factories, Céline and Céline and the promotion of the espadrille), the Orry Valley ( the cowherd Jean-Marc Bertrand and his wife Murielle, the "Refuge pastoral", the care for the cows of 3 cattle-breeders, the transhumance, the "Label Rosées des Pyrénées"), the Catalan language (about 400.000 speakers in France, the "Collectif Joan Pau Giné"-the artists singing in Catalan language) and the hiking guide Cédric (the walking in the Pyrenean Mountains, the revival of the village of Jujols, Cédric as story teller).

I enjoyed the encounters of Sophie with Mathieu Brunet and Nicolas Girad at Port-Barcarès, with the wine maker Laetitia Pietri-Clara in the vineyard of Collioure, with Jojo Pous at the hotel-bar "Les Templiers", with Raphaël Dumas and Vincent Vidalou in Perpignan, with Eliane Thibaut-Comelade in Perpignan , with the chef Alain Delprat at Ille-sur-Têt, with Bernard Llong at the Stade Municpal Jean Galia, with Fabien Boyer, the donkey owner, with Thomas Dulac-the ascent of the Mont Canigou-, with the trail runner Aristide Begue at Font Romeu and with Guillem Dalmau at Argelès-sur-Mer (the human tower and the fireworks); nice encounters with very kind Catalan men and women.
