Here a mid-period Lumiere short. Purportedly is shows the crush of traffic in La Palouse. According to the information provided b the site I saw it on, it's part of Longchamps race track, the major racing venue in Paris.
Where it is or is not, it's clearly a fashionable location, given the crush of carriages and pedestrians. Clearly it was the place to be for the moment at the very least, or rather the place to be seen leaving. Or trying to leave. No one is moving very fast.
Unlike earlier Lumieres, the motion is far more chaotic, and there's no clear indication of who directed it. Still, interesting to see how the Upper Class traveled in the late 19th Century.
