Faith No More
bobcobb30118 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I won't praise much about the show tonight and not because it was political or because it tackled religion: it just wasn't particularly funny

You had Stewie and Brian, you had time travel and everything seemed to be set up for a good episode, but it just was not. There were a few good gags here and there but for the most part it was just underwhelming and kind of felt like that modern Family Guy where they make a quality pop culture relevant nugget, but not much else.

The season is almost over and while some episodes have been okay you kind of wonder how much longer a show like this will go on for.

This episode was great!
alex992025 April 2024
This episode was very enjoyable. Finally we have another time-travel adventure with Brian and Stewie after so many boring recent episodes where Stewie acts and thinks like a regular toddler, while in this episode Stewie is once again portrayed as a child genius who owns a time machine. I am pretty sure that the negative reviews come from the offended religious people who cannot take a joke. This episode was very enjoyable for me, especially considering that it's partly true about religion, considering how much harm it had done to the world for centuries. I understand Brian's frustration about being an atheist who doesnt fit into a religious society. This episode was quite funny, entertaining and really unpredictable. Similar to the classic Family Guy we all know and love.

Double Standards and Dull Humor: A Review of Family Guy's Latest Episode Mocking Christianity. Again.
mikkolfathy19 April 2024
Family Guy has a long history of pushing boundaries and satire, often poking fun at various aspects of society, including religion. The latest episode that focuses on Christianity and Jesus is no exception. However, what sets this particular episode apart is its repetitive nature, as it's not the first time the show has targeted Christianity in such a manner.

The episode seems to rely heavily on unjustified mockery rather than using satire to deliver a meaningful point or critique. This approach can be disappointing for viewers looking for clever commentary or insightful humor. It may come across as lazy writing or simply relying on shock value for laughs.

One notable aspect of the episode is the show's reluctance or fear to tackle similar themes with religions that have more extremist followers, such as Islam. This selective targeting raises questions about the show's willingness to confront controversial topics evenly and fairly. It can leave some viewers feeling like there's a double standard at play, where certain subjects are off-limits while others are fair game for relentless mockery.

Also keep in mind that Continuous exposure to content that mocks religious beliefs without context or purpose can be harmful, especially for younger audiences as It can perpetuate stereotypes and biases.

Overall, while Family Guy is known for its irreverent humor, this latest episode may fall short for those seeking more substance or thoughtful commentary, especially regarding sensitive topics like religion.

Weak story and jokes.

Warning: Spoilers
So they portray God as Biff. Instead of God saying something like "because of you all of humanity will end up in hell" it was "I'll beat you up." It's not even offensive it's just poorly researched. This is the kind of storyline you'd expect to see on a flash toon. Family guy used to be known as edgy, cutting edge, exciting, and inspiring. Now family guy is that 14 year old high school try hard that is desperate for friends so he pranks everyone only to end up in someone's locker. I hope they improve or just cease making episodes. They're becoming as zombified as the simpsons. Stop being so lazy and you might last longer.

Why do I even torture myself...
askeland8930 April 2024
I have no good answer as to why I'm still watching this show. I got introduced to Family Guy in season 8 and Road to the Multiverse made me fell in love with this show. Back then they had passion for the craft and the episodes was funny and creative. Even though it was ultimately a pointless laugh out loud comedy show, I actually got emotionally invested in it and I started to care about the characters.. Now I couldn't care less and apparently, neither could the creators. This once great television show is just sad, pathetic and straight up unfunny. They're not even trying anymore and they're not trying to hide the fact that they're not trying.

If you had any respect for your audience you would have canceled it by now but sadly that's not the world we live in.

Incredibly Tone Deaf
implodinggoat20 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Brian goes back in time to destroy Christianity because he blames it for all the evils of the world. After he succeeds in destroying Christianity and consequently Islam they return to a perfectly peaceful world where everyone is Jewish. A plot point that strikes me as disgustingly tone deaf being written and released at a time where the Israeli government is currently killing tens of thousands of Muslims and Christians in Gaza. Following this they decide to use time travel to destroy Judaism as well because they find its rituals inconvenient and return to an atheist future that the writers lack the guts to flesh out or present any downsides to. God then shows up and bullies them until they go back in time and return the status quo. The jokes all fall flat through the whole episode and the show offers no perspective or depth and only attacks the easy targets approved by Hollywood orthodoxy. Trite, predictable, boring, devoid of humor and tone deaf to an active war in which thousands of children are dying. I think this must be the worst episode of Family Guy. Being offensive could at least be justified if it was saying something meaningful or funny; but it fails on those fronts too.

Uncreative and offensive
bergy-9706330 April 2024
Family Guy season 22 episode 15 attempts to satirize religion, particularly Christianity and Judaism, but falls flat, coming off as crass and disrespectful rather than insightful or humorous. The show's usual irreverence crosses into outright offense, lacking the cleverness needed to tackle such sensitive topics effectively. The episode resorts to cheap jokes and stereotypes that serve no purpose beyond shock value, alienating viewers who seek thoughtful comedy. This approach not only undermines the potential for meaningful satire but also demonstrates a lack of creativity and sensitivity. Overall, the episode is a disappointing misfire in "Family Guy's" otherwise bold repertoire.

Extremely offensive and not funny.
Ba-Alanazi6910 May 2024
"Extremely offensive and not funny. I found this episode demeaning and containing blasphemy, and I am neither Christian nor Jewish." I'm deeply troubled by the insult, finding it both offensive and deeply disrespectful. Such behavior not only undermines the principles of tolerance and mutual respect but also perpetuates division and discord in society. It's crucial to recognize and value the diversity of beliefs and opinions, fostering an environment of empathy and understanding rather than hostility and disdain. The recent decline in quality of "Family Guy" has been disappointing and frustrating. As a long-time fan, witnessing the show's failure to maintain its comedic standards and resorting to repetitive or tasteless humor is disheartening. It's evident that the creative direction has faltered, resulting in a lackluster viewing experience for many loyal viewers. It's a shame to see such potential squandered, and one can only hope for a revitalization of the series in the future.
