- After a "zombie attack" at a Halloween party, Five-0 discovers a mad doctor who is conducting bizarre human experiments.
- Max and Sabrina are watching an outdoor movie when a man turns up seeming incoherent, then starts attacking people. A cop tries to control the man, who goes wild and the cop shoots him. Steve and Danny arrive and Max thinks the guy is a zombie. At the morgue, Max collapses, and they learn that the man was drugged and the drugs turned into a gas that infected Max. They learn that the man worked at hospital and went there before he was found and took something out of the morgue; they learn that he took the head off a corpse. They learn the head was that of a girl who went missing a year ago and resurfaced with no memory of what happened to her. They learn of a guy who was trying to contact her who has been lying low was also abducted two years ago. They see that someone did experiments on him and the girl, and try to find the person who did this. Catherine, still reeling from Billy's death, decides to help find Adam.—rcs0411@yahoo.com

The 'zombie' is identified as hospital administrator and as video recorded rape drugged by a masked man before and--causing OD aggression--after entering the morgue, where he ordered the intern on a break and decapitated the corpse of a girl who died in a car accident, a year after her mysterious, amnesiac return from a month long abduction without claim. On her reconstructed trail, claustrophobic must let Steve Chase alone into an underground homeless hideout, then helps arrest a junkie who suffered a similar fate. Their common background and unusually small brain sizes part of a remarkable series of MRIs point to a doctor who pleads for brain surgery to curb criminal tendencies.—KGF Vissers
