The main theme is the beginning of the reconstruction and return to life of fiftyish architect Andrea, devastated by loss and guilt. The initial catalyst is Hikma, an attractive young woman, sister of one of Andrea's clients.

Director and script writer Francesco Calogero has treated this subject (that has some elements in common with Hitchcock's Vertigo) with a light, atmospheric and poetic touch that never descends into sentimentalism or melodrama. Acting is excellent throughout. If any objection could be made, perhaps some dialogues are too extended.
