- Zac can't get the trident to do anything so he hatches a plan to snoop around Rita's house. While Evie interviews her at home for the school's magazine, he sneaks about and discovers her secret room.
- The girls must get the trident out of Zac's possession. Meanwhile, Zac and Cam attempt to use it but can't seem to get it to do anything. Lyla keeps trying to warn Zac of it's potential danger and when Evie sees them talking, she becomes suspicious of them again. David informs Evie that they need an article for the school's magazine and Zac suggests interviewing Principal Santos at home. The girls search Zac's house for the trident while he's at school but with no luck. Evie interviews Rita about her background but when the girls arrive, she shifts the focus to them and it becomes more like an interrogation. While David photographs them, Zac snoops about the house and discovers the secret room. He sneaks back in later through the ocean entrance but the girls are waiting for him.—grrlpunk
- Uncertain if Zac has the trident, the girls' worst fear is realised when they return to Mako island and discover it is gone. However, Zac is having no luck unlocking the trident's powers and he decides there is only one person who might have the knowledge he needs - Rita. He tags along while Evie interviews Rita for the school magazine at her house but Evie's probing questions prompt Lyla to remind Zac that it is his secret that Evie is getting dangerously close to uncovering as well. While the girls are busy, Zac searches the house and discovers the secret entrance to the grotto. Curious about what secrets the grotto holds, Zac returns to the grotto through the ocean entrance but he is confronted by the girls. However, Sirena's Moon Ring only acts to charge up the trident and Zac flees. It is not long before he is back at the garage testing out the trident's power.
