That Girl is the story of an unheard voice; A short film that follows a 14-year-old girl as she tries to understand and navigate her own emotions and the outside world without parents. It tackles an unspoken issue that thousands of children and young people go through every year, a parent in prison. The girls life tailspins out of control when her mother is taken away from her. We follow her as she attempts to pick up the pieces of her life without a parent. Dealing with grief, betrayal, isolation and hope, 'That Girl' is one of 312,000 children in the UK with a parent in prison. The script has been developed using real life accounts from 5 consultants, and each draft has been finessed by their experiences of what it was like when their mum went to prison.
