I see that there is criticism of the show and it is understandable given the fact that many people do not understand the cult phenomena. It is obvious that many of the scenes had to be reconstructed because in my many years of experience those leaving cult groups look at the outside world as evil it takes some time for them to adjust, especially with those who were born into a group like this. I remember about 15 years ago meeting Flora Jessop and her telling me what was occurring in the FLDS and I was blown away and was having a hard time believing it all.
This show is needed because it shows the dynamics of the total control a leader has over their followers. I am thankful for Carolyn Jessop for what she is doing to help in the extremely difficult process of helping someone enter a world that they have no clue about and believe is evil and controlled by Lucifer. Also leaving the only family they know.
This is a great show and the statements made by those who escaped from the cult are real and true. I have exit counseled many who have left groups like this. I believe this show will help others who may be watching that have not understood what has happened to them.
