Absolutely dreadful

Warning: Spoilers
This is completely dreadful, what more can I say? It's a supposed indie comedy shot on the grubby streets of New York, featuring outer-space werewolf women coming to Earth and wreaking havoc. It's one of those movies which goes all-out in an attempt to be 'zany', with 'zany' characters doing 'zany' things, and the whole thing is completely stupid. At times this seems to be attempting to spoof old sci-fi and horror B-movies but the attempts are lost amid the incessantly stupid sketches and bad taste moments. Pity poor old Janeane Garofalo, from COP LAND to this in just twenty years!

Ambitious But Needs More Bite

Werewolf B From Outer Space (2016)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

A leader of Uranus sends two werewolves down to New York City to do something. What they're exactly doing is something I'm not sure of but they end up killing a lot of people.

Several different people are credited as being the director of this thing. This movie, as the title clearly suggests, appears to have been influenced by Troma and even its founder Lloyd Kaufman shows up for a cameo. With that said, if you're going to pay homage to the films of Troma then it would probably be best that you're not so clean and politically incorrect.

I'll be quite honest and say that I did not enjoy this film and sadly it just didn't live up to the title. More on that in a bit but I will say that I enjoyed the fact that the directors and screenwriters were very ambitious and really tried to give you something that doesn't make sense and was just out there. I guess the term "out there" was meant for a movie like this as pretty much anything and everything happens but just not what a movie like this needs to deliver.

What does a movie like this need to deliver? Perhaps some politically incorrect humor, some sleaze, some gore and some nudity. All of those things are missing here and that's why the film is pretty darn boring even if the filmmakers are keeping everything happening at a fast pace. What's interesting about the jokes here is that they're basically liberal jokes and the bad people (cops for example) are killed by the werewolves. In the good Troma era the film would have been politically incorrect and led to more laughs.

WEREWOLF BITCHES FROM OUTER SPACE isn't a movie that I enjoyed but it did give me faith that the directors could make an actual good movie and I do look forward to seeing what else they have to offer.
