- Open with Peter and Neal talking about the former's move to DC and the latter's next handler. Neal says he's talked to a lawyer about having his sentence dropped and a recommendation from Peter would be huge.
At the office Jones tells the guys Rebecca will be indicted the following morning. Peter and Neal bag the evidence themselves and then crack a beer. One of Rebecca's burner phones starts ringing in one of the evidence boxes. It's a message from a guy looking for her "services." Peter wants to put new mother Diana on the job, posing as Rebecca for this potential suspect.
Mozzie drops by Neal place and tells him about being haunted by the codex floating around in his brain. They talk about the fact they are probably the only people still looking for the diamond. Mozzie has visions of the diamond financing a huge criminal empire.
Peter calls Neal back to the office where Diana is back at her desk for the first time. Diana calls back the man from the burner. Diana demands an in-person meet. Unfortunately he's been briefed on Rebecca's "signal" and is expecting Diana to know this.
Rebecca is brought in to White Collar. Peter sits down with her and asks for the signal. Rebecca figures out that she's gotten a job and says she'll only tell Neal after talking to him "about a few things." Peter passes, but she says she'll give up the signal in exchange for seeing Neal. It is a watch worn upside down set to a certain time. Neal sits down with Rebecca at the same time Diana is conducting the meeting.
The man confirms Diana's watch then leads her to an unknown indoor location.
From the truck Jones is able to ID the man as Conrad Werth, who had been investigated by the SEC. Jones leaves to back up Diana.
Neal and Rebecca argue over whether their relationship was genuine. She thinks what they had was real and says Neal saw "the true me." She thinks he still has feelings for her but he's adamant "it's over."
Werth brings Diana to his new office. Jones is there as well, watching from nearby. Werth asks Diana for information about a specific story in Rebecca's past, saying he doesn't believe she's Rebecca. Neal is wearing an earpiece and Peter asks him for help. Neal and Rebecca work out on a deal where they each answer questions. Diana is able to convince Werth. Werth wants her to steal a thumb drive for him. Rebecca asks Neal if he's still going after the diamond. She wonders what he'll do if he finds it while being tracked by the FBI. He says regardless she won't be a part of it and she looks hurt.
Jones tells Neal that Werth it targeting the offices of a hedge fund run by Ian Dybek. When Dybek and Werth were investigated Dybek fired Werth. After Peter informed Dybek of the security threat Dybek left work with the thumb drive. The team thinks a critical algorithm must be on the drive, perhaps something related to a potential criminal operation worth billions.
Peter tells Elizabeth about Neal's interest in being set free. Peter says he thinks Neal needs rules and structure after being hurt by Rebecca.
Neal helps Diana with the thumb drive. While they observe Dybek and his wife leave home, Diana gets a frantic call from her nanny. Neal goes it alone, entering the Dybek home.
The reason the nanny called Diana is because Mozzie come over posed as a gas man. He was testing the nanny's quality and freaks her out so much that she quits on the spot. Diana lets Mozzie take over for the day.
Neal breaks into Dybek's safe. He grabs the thumb drive just as the Dybek's mistress stops by in lingerie. Neal takes off his clothes and gets into one of Ian's robes, pretending to be Ian's wife's boyfriend. Ian returns home and Neal has her help distract him while he sneaks out.
Peter is upset with Diana for allowing Neal to go in alone. She defends her call and says she stands by the decision given the timeline. It turns out the drive was exactly what they though, a serous of buy/sell commands that will put the market into a nosedive. It would have made Werth rich while torpedoing the economy.
The team tricks Ian with a fake thumb drive that serves to allow the team into his computer. But once he plugs in the drive he gets a text that Rebecca is in prison. He pulls a gun on Diana, who stands by her story long enough to get his gun. Peter and Jones move in and make the arrest. Peter isn't sure who blew their cover. Afterwards Jones finds out the text came from the correctional center where Rebecca is being held. Peter is furious about the security breach and Diana has to calm him down.
Mozzie seems to be getting along famously with Diana's son. While looking at Teddy's mobile Mozzie has a breakthrough about Mosconi's codex.
Peter asks Neal if he thinks he can go straight. Neal says "yes," but Peter says he's not sure he can believe it. At this point almost everybody in the station gets a call. Rebecca has escaped.
Mozzie goes to Neal's place and leaves Neal a voicemail about what he' figured out. We see that Rebecca is listening from Neal's balcony.
