The first crossover between The Walking Dead and its sister show Fear The Walking Dead is now on the horizon, with Lennie James’ Morgan Jones recently revealed to be the character set to leave the parent series and join the cast of the spinoff. It’s an announcement that has proven bittersweet for fans, who are simultaneously excited for the crossover and sad to see Morgan exit Twd.
Someone else who’s already missing Morgan is Rick Grimes himself, Andrew Lincoln. As the leading man of the zombie drama, the actor has had to say goodbye to many cast members over the years, and James’ upcoming exit is hitting him hard as he really enjoys exploring Rick and Morgan’s relationship.
“This job is, as I’ve said before, glorious, wouldn’t trade it for the world, but there is a stinger. There’s the fact that, I seem to...

2017-12-06T06:58:19-08:00'Walking Dead' Watch: Is Negan Going to Kill Someone Else?class="p1">
The last time The Walking Dead generated much excitement, it was at the end of season 6, when we all wondered who Neegan was going to kill at the beginning of season 7. Now that season 8 is almost half finished, and excitement has been in short supply, the series is trying to evoke that kind of anticipation once again. A new teaser seems to indicate that Neegan and the Saviors might be about to exact another heavy toll on Rick's group.

It wasn't long ago that Walking Dead fans spent an entire summer wondering which one of the show's many main characters was about to meet their demise at the business end of a barbed-wired baseball bat named Lucille.
Sure, they could have read up on what happens in the comics,...

"Oh, is that a Coke?!" Greta Gerwig exclaims. A tinkering tray carrying -- yup -- a glass of Coca-Cola has just arrived to her hotel suite. I'm having a side conversation with the actress Saoirse Ronan about their new film, Lady Bird, as Gerwig gleefully intercepts the Coke and takes a sip. "Oh god. That tastes so good."
"She don't give a sh*t about the movie right now," Ronan throws a thumb in Gerwig's direction, drawing her attention. "He was saying lovely things about the film and you're like, 'Mmm, fizzy! Bubbly!'"
Lady Bird, which Gerwig wrote and with which she makes her directorial debut, centers on high school senior Christine McPherson, self-nicknamed Lady Bird, as she navigates Catholic school boys, college applications and mother-daughter drama in circa 2003 Sacramento. The irony is Gerwig gives such a sh*t about the film that it's the first thing anyone mentions about working with her. Beanie Feldstein, who co-stars...

Need to catch up? Check out the previous This Is Us recap here.
There are some Friday nights under the lights that even Coach Taylor wouldn’t be able to save.
Kevin has one of ’em in this week’s This Is Us, which chronicles two fraught nights in the Pearson sibling’s life: one where he first busts his knee, thus ending his dreams of collegiate and professional football glory, and one where he returns to his high school, literally high, and makes a chain of very poor choices.
And that’s all before the episode’s worst development comes to light.

With just under two weeks to go until The Flash returns for another exciting season, one of the questions on all of our minds is the same as it whenever this time of year rolls around: What of the new heroes and villains? Well, we were recently offered some intriguing teasers as to how the incoming Elongated Man will interact with the Scarlet Speedster, but two other major players are also to be addressed.
First, let’s talk about Killer Frost. While she’s technically nobody new, the ever evolving and complicated woman that is Caitlin Snow has remained a hot topic all throughout the summer hiatus. Last season, she finally embraced her chilly alter ego, something we’d all waited to see since the pilot episode aired several years back.

The cast and crew of Deadpool 2, and indeed the wider film industry at large, were left in a state of shock last week following the sudden death of stuntwoman Joi “Sj” Harris in Vancouver, Canada, who was killed when an on-set motorcycle stunt went horribly, horribly wrong.
Ryan Reynolds, a Vancouver native and the title star of David Leitch’s 2018 sequel, expressed his condolences in a heartfelt statement, stating that Joi’s passing had left him “heartbroken, shocked and devastated.” It’s believed that Joi Harris, an experienced road racer, was doubling for Domino (Zazie Beetz) at the time of the accident, and came off her motorcycle after multiple takes of the same scene. Investigations are still underway, but The Hollywood Reporter has now brought to light some pretty disturbing and concerning details on what went down, and as it turns out, this all could have been avoided.

Tell me if you’ve heard this one before: “I hate Danny Rand in Iron Fist.”
Yes, I know, it’s a pretty common opinion to have online. In a world where we have a morally conflicted Daredevil, and alcoholic and damaged Jessica Jones, and a reluctant Luke Cage, one would expect that Iron Fist’s Danny Rand would have a real distinguishing trait. Sadly, the only real distinguishing traits were negative ones.
Danny Rand was naive, a little dumb, and had the tendency to tell everyone under the sun that he meets that he’s Danny Rand. Even worse, he had a hard time channeling his chi, so he could only actually summon the Iron Fist when the plot warranted it. He pretty much has all the aspects of a very annoying TV character. While I could defend various aspects of the character, in terms of the story giving him room to grow,...

Charlize Theron is nothing if not self-aware. In the latest issue of Variety (on newsstands now), the actress admits her career took a surprising turn after she won an Oscar in 2004 for Monster. "As far as work goes, it opens up a lot of doors. But also, it's so overwhelming to have everybody clamoring and saying, 'This is what you should do.' There's so much noise," Theron recalls. "I felt a little unstable afterwards." How did the actress find her way? "Someone else wins," she says. "So it takes it off you." One of Theron's first post-Oscar projects was Aeon Flux, based on the animated science fiction television series of the same name. "I got offered...

Chicago – The documentary maker Steve James, one of the best in the history of cinema, has a resume of quality reporting through feature film that is stunning in its context. The director of “Hoop Dreams,” “Stevie,” “The Interrupters,” “Head Games” and the Roger Ebert biography “Life Itself” has a new doc, focusing on one repercussion of the financial crisis of 2008, subtly entitled “Abacus: Small Enough to Jail.
The film is about the Abacus Federal Savings Bank of Chinatown New York City, a financial house built through the sweat and toil of Thomas Sung, who opened the institution because he wanted to help his community… he was inspired to do that from the film “It’s a Wonderful Life” and the George Bailey character. His successful enterprise had one bad apple in it, which resulted in fraudulent mortgage applications, much like the “too big to fail” banks that did the same thing.

Fresh off throwing Adrian Chase into an A.R.G.U.S. cell, Team Arrow felt a wave of relief — enough so that they assembled at the loft to throw Oliver a surprise birthday party, share plans for their “summer vacation” (including fishing, camping, new socks) and, for Oliver and Felicity, agree to take some baby steps in the direction of a rekindled romance.
But the revelry didn’t last long.

But when he went to pay the bill, the cashier told him he was all set: Someone else had paid.

The newly engaged couple celebrated Bella's 500,000 YouTube subscribers with a sexy nude video -- well, it starts off sexy, anyway.
Exclusive: Nikki Bella Gushes Over Her Dream Wedding Dress, Details the Moment John Cena Proposed
"We are finally ready to have this huge celebration. Sorry it took a few days. It took a while to convince someone to do this," the Total Divas star says in the video, pointing to her fiancé. "This is a very good idea because why? We got half a million subscribers! So, we are ready to give all of us to all of you."
"I still don't think this is a good idea," Cena quipped, before giving in and pulling down his shorts as Bella removed her silk robe.

It’s not enough to love films, we now must enumerate that love or hate relative to any similar films.
It has become a familiar ritual — the latest release in a franchise or a noted director’s canon spawns more than one site to run a “The Films of ___________, Ranked” article. We’ve done this dance with the Marvel movies since At Least 2012 when The Avengers came out, and no doubt someone is at this very moment preparing a ranking of the 14 previous films in the McU to accompany the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Wonder Woman will likely spur on a ranking of all the DC Films, and we saw just in the past week where everyone stood on the existing Fast & Furious movies.
And yes, I got into the act with my own “The Films of Assistant Director Frank Capra III, Ranked.” Hopefully the point was made.

Sara Bareilles may have made a name for herself on the pop charts with Grammy-nominated hits like “Love Song” and “Brave,” but the 37-year-old singer grew up a theater kid.
“My first introduction into music was theater cast albums,” Bareilles tells People, during a sit-down in New York City. “Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, The Secret Garden, Little Shop of Horrors, Chess — you name it, I was all about it.”
She had a chance to write her very own theater cast album with Waitress — the hit 2016 musical she composed about a waitress in a small town who enters a pie contest...

Saturday Night Live goofed on Pepsi's controversial, exploitative Kendall Jenner-starring commercial with a sketch that questioned how anyone could think the ad was a good idea.
In the sketch, SNL cast member Beck Bennett plays the writer of the Pepsi ad, who has some serious last-minute concerns about his commercial, which relies on social activism and political movements to push soda.
During a break in filming, the writer calls his sister, who is the first to inform him that the commercial is "tone-deaf." Someone else, "Doug," then explains to...

“Big Little Lies,” HBO’s seven-part adaptation of the Liane Moriarty best seller, was an unusual sort of murder mystery. The mini-series devoted so much time to developing its rich cast of characters — and seemed so uninterested in advancing the central criminal investigation — that, by the end of its penultimate episode, the identities of both the killer and the victim remained unknown.
Sunday’s finale supplied answers to those questions and more. And, while plenty of viewers correctly guessed who would die, the revelation of who murdered that character was a genuine surprise (unless, of course, you’d already read the Moriarty novel). If you’ve finished “Big Little Lies,” read on for a spoiler-packed selection of the best post-finale analyses and interviews.

Fierce, committed and above all, tough — these are the words that collaborators use to describe producer Robin O’Hara, a longtime fixture of the New York independent film scene, who died suddenly last week after complications from cancer treatment.
When O’Hara’s business and life partner Scott Macaulay of Forensic Films posted the sad news on Facebook last Wednesday, hundreds of prominent filmmakers, former crewmembers, and friends from across the independent film world offered an outpouring of condolences, remembrances, and testimonies about O’Hara’s importance in nurturing their art and their careers.
As “Saving Face” director Alice Wu wrote, “She was brilliant and mercurial and hilarious and terrifying. She gave no fucks — unless she did give a fuck — and then she gave everything. Anyone who has been lucky enough to be in her orbit never lets go. She pushed us all … and we became better people.”

After seeing Logan, it seems like a ridiculous thought to bring Wolverine back to the big screen with a different actor in the role. We all know that one day it will eventually happen, though. Even Hugh Jackman admitted to THR:
“The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure.”
It doesn't sound like it's going to happen anytime soon, though. While talking to Deadline, X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg said:
“We haven’t even thought of the next iteration of Wolverine. For all of us, we were keeping our fingers crossed that the audiences would respond to Logan the way they have. I can’t visualize in my head another Wolverine..."
That's pretty much how the rest of us feel at this point. However, he does go on to say that when the day comes, they will talk to Jackman about it and he will...

The synths are coming, the synths are coming!
On Humans Season 2 Episode 4, we see the beginnings of a secret synth initiative, or are synths being used by humans for their own agenda? Hmm. This should be interesting.
What started out as the simple sacking of Joe took a sinister turn. I didn't see that swerve coming, but thank goodness Joe had Mattie to sniff out the conspiracy.
How he made that leap wasn't really explained very well. I mean, why did he suspect something just from a standard buyout agreement?
Seems a tad convenient from a storytelling perspective, but it is what it is.
So, are synths Really making upper-level business decisions at his former company?
My guess is no. I think he was fired as punishment to Joe's family for Laura's involvement in the Niska deal.
This is how we lose, you know. It won't be robots that rise...

If you guys can get through an episode of this show without a honking headache at the end, then boy, are you lucky!
The pace slows even more in Legion Season 1 Episode 3, but the mind bending trippiness doesn't let up one bit. Dreams within dreams, memories that aren't memories, and more general insanity makes this one Really hard to follow.
I'm still liking it, but I wonder if we are reaching a saturation point with the cray cray "unreliable narrator" structure of the show. It might be getting too weird for it's own good.
I love a show with lots of layers, and this one sure has that. But at a certain point, we as an audience need to know what the deal is regarding what the hell is Really going on.
Melanie: You're not just a telepath. You can control objects with your mind.
David: Control may be an overstatement.

After unsheathing those iconic adamantium claws in eight – soon to be nine – feature films, Hugh Jackman is all set to bring the curtain down on Wolverine’s historic saga with Logan, James Mangold’s R-rated drama that is now teetering on the verge of release.
Pegged for March 3rd, many fans of Jackman’s enraged mutant will consider the release of Logan to be bittersweet, as Wolverine’s greatest adventure also looks set to be his last. The character will have a future beyond 2017, though. Chatting to New York Times, Hugh Jackman conceded that it’s practically inevitable Fox will decide to recast his iconic X-Men character further down the line – and really, he’s okay with that. You know, providing Daniel Day-Lewis doesn’t swoop in, chew scenery, and walk away Oscar in hand.

Wolverine turned out to be the role of a lifetime for Hugh Jackman, who’s been playing the nigh-invincible X-Man since 2000. In that time, he’s put on Logan’s side burns (and muscle) for nine movies, including James Mangold’s Logan, which opens March 3. It’s been a great run for Jackman, who’s traveled to the past, future, and Japan. But, as he’s so often pointed out in the last couple of years, he’s also more than ready to move on. Logan’s really looking like it will be his swan song, which is something he tells The New York Times he’s perfectly okay with—unless the X-Men movies become Oscar contenders all of a sudden.

If the sad, morbid, and dark Logan trailer wasn’t enough to drive the point home, Hugh Jackman’s tenure as everyone’s favorite clawed mutant, Wolverine, is coming to an end. The man has brought joy to millions over the past seventeen years — ever since X-Men first hit theaters in all its leather-clad glory back in 2000. Who would’ve thought he’d stick around for as long as he has, and that his films and performance would actually get better as time went on (2000 was still during an era when sequels usually meant garbage)?
But unfortunately, while actors age, characters generally do not. As comic books have proven for generations, their superheroes live on for generations and in countless incarnations. While Jackman has been more than serviceable in the Logan role, the fact remains that his recasting is inevitable. Yes, for the time being, 20th Century Fox has proven...

On May 25, 1979, a misty summer morning in New York City, 6-year-old Etan Patz begged his mother, Julie, to let him walk the few blocks to school alone. She relented, and the last time she saw him alive he was walking away from her.
Etan’s mysterious disappearance struck fear both in his New York City neighborhood and the country as a whole, as the little boy became a leading face for the search for missing children everywhere.
In February, decades after he became the first-ever “milk carton kid,” a jury finally convicted Etan’s killer though his body was never found.

The videogame Overwatch continues to grow in popularity. But what's its appeal?
“Are Mei and D.Va sisters?”
“I don’t think so Lil, one is Korean and the other is Chinese.”
“Okay, but Hanzo and Genji are brothers?”
“I think so, though one is a cyborg.”
“And Ana is Pharah’s mum.”
Above is a small snippet of a very lengthy discussion between me and my seven year old daughter before she went to sleep one night. A discussion in which we debated the family connections present within online multiplayer team based shooter Overwatch. That a seven year old, whose other obsession is mermaids, can be this deeply involved in the world Blizzard have created with their latest game is a testament to its enduring and far reaching appeal. Overwatch has transcended being simply an online shooter to something that people of all ages, can get truly invested in.

"I try to stay out of politics. I'm an entertainer. My interview statement simply tried to be nice and promote a message of love, not hate," she wrote, adding that she has made visits to the White House and done Uso tours "regardless of who the sitting President is."
"I love this great country!" she concluded her message.
