- TriviaOn 'The Muppet Show' episode with guest Jaye P. Morgan, Kermit introduces "Tweedle Dee" as "the very first piece of material the Muppets ever did... about 23 years ago." That would place it in late 1954 to early 1955. This may refer to the first episode of 'Sam and Friends' broadcast on WRC-TV on May 9, 1955. However, according to Jim Henson's notes and biography, he and Jane Nebel (Henson) used the song for the Muppets' first appearance on WRC-TV's show 'Afternoon', which began on March 7, 1955, performing two bird puppets that lip-synced to the Georgia Gibbs recording.
