Unresolved issues begin to effect many of the Foster household.

Warning: Spoilers
In the episode, there is a balance between light heated stories, like Brandon and Callie, as well as Jesus friendship with Emma and then there is what is on the opposite end which includes Jude's issues with him thinking Callie abandoned him, and a lot of other issues in which Callie is in the center of. But, perhaps the saddest story of all is between Stef and her father. The man who refused to show up to his daughter's wedding because he couldn't accept her "lifestyle," but he does try to show at least tolerance. For Stef though, it just wasn't enough.

Topic 1: Unresolved Issues – Callie, Stef & Lena

Let's put it out there, Callie needs real therapy when she is the focus and not a group session in which she can divert attention away from her thoughts and feelings. I say this because, between her rough upbringing, including what Liam did, and her sudden rebellious nature, it really does seem like she needs someone to talk to one on one. Thankfully though, Rita provides this in some ways, and though Rita does let Callie get attacked by the girls when Cole ends up in the hospital, partly because of Callie, she presents herself as a mother figure in such a way that I don't think Stef or Lena have taken on for her as they have for Jude.

I mean, think about it, outside Brandon, the Fosters haven't really pursued getting Callie to feel at home outside the basics like giving her a bed, food and what not. Which sort of explains why there is such a strong connection between her and Brandon, and was between her and Wyatt. For despite everyone trying to say Callie is trying to escape or fears commitment, I think, if anything, she just wants someone to commit to her and not disappoint her. And, thus far, the Fosters have largely disappointed her.

Speaking of disappointment, Stef and Lena are having issues once more. The big issue, at the moment, is Lena is without a car and Stef's dad tries to bring one as a late wedding gift. Thing is, with Stef's dad always trying to buy his way out of saying sorry, she doesn't want the gift. Lena, on the other hand, seemingly isn't fond of not having her own vehicle anymore, and between her thinking this car is a good means of getting Stef and her dad to talk, and could help since Lena may make a push to have a kid, she pushes Stef to the point where they nearly argue. Which, considering Lena is about to get prenatal vitamins, and likely look for a donor, this is just the start of many issues between the two.

It doesn't end there though. Going back to Callie, though more so Girls United, the star of the house, Cole, talks about his life. Being someone trans-gendered isn't at all that easy for him. His parents couldn't accept he thought himself as a boy, and couldn't even tolerate the idea he maybe a lesbian, so he was forced out. Which lead to him prostituting to survive, and to get his hormones and that leads to this episode in which he ODs. And despite Rita calling his parents, they don't come. Which, led me to crying for, despite him coming off as a creeper last episode, seemingly he wasn't trying to get Callie as a love interest by separating her and Brandon but, instead, he was really trying to look out for her like she did him. Even if just in group.

Topic 2: "Jesus Time"

Being that Jude is now to be adopted, him and Jesus are forced to work out a system. Which leads to "Jesus Time" which starts with Lexi sending a pic in her bra and asking what he looks like. Jude walks in on this, and this leads to the system. A hat on the door means stay out. That is the system. The interesting part of this though is the first use of the hat doesn't come with Lexi and Jesus sexting or whatever, but because Jesus is talking to Emma, his friend from the wrestling team. Now, I'm not going to jump to conclusions and say something may happen there, since Emma vocally doesn't seem interested, but I can see one of the two accidentally kissing the other and Jesus getting angry at himself and doing something stupid.

Topic 3: The Brandon Situation

Speaking of doing something stupid, I almost forgot Brandon. As you know, this stalker/ obsessed with Callie to the point he sounds like a Stephenie Meyer character, constantly goes against his restraining order. But, seemingly, he is willing to do what it takes to try to get Callie home so he lies to his moms about his feelings. But, upon getting to be alone in Daphne's new apartment through the Independent Living Program, he serenades her, with an honestly cute Plain White T's sounding song, and then they end up making out on the floor.

But, unfortunately for poor Brandon, being that Callie takes what Rita says to heart about her running and ruining good things for herself, much less the girls noting how she isn't taking the home seriously, she decides to stay. For, despite her thinking she is ready to be on her own, I think she has an epiphany and realizes she isn't ready. Making for an overall episode which had small bits of laughter, and quite a bit of character growth. But, why would you expect anything less from this show?
