Before I start my final Twin Peaks recap, let’s get one thing clear: I love Twin Peaks. And I loved this new season. And I loved the finale. I remember one hot June evening back in 1991 when the show suddenly ended on a dramatic cliffhanger and then was (seemingly) gone forever. And people hated that finale! It was so polarizing! And then we all turned against the movie. And yet…
Twenty-five years later, here we are, once again. The fans are divided. Twin Peaks has split them in two. People are either furious, or rapturous. And I am the latter.

The following recap, by its very nature, contains major spoilers about this week’s Twin Peaks. Proceed at your own peril.
Goodbye Richard Horne, you evil little demon. He was killed by his father. Yes, his father. We were all correct: Evil Coop was Richard’s dad after all. (Which means Evil Coop likely raped Audrey Horne while she lay in a coma. For more on our potentially sleeping beauty, see the Bonus Points section below.)

Nope, no Audrey Horne on Twin Peaks this week. I think the solution to her ever-deepening mystery won’t be wrapped up for at least a few more episodes. And for the record, I do not believe she is an actress or somehow trapped inside the soap opera “Invitation To Love” from the original series. I mean, c’mon, think about it, that makes no sense. She’s an actress in a soap opera playing a character with her own name? A soap opera that references events taking place in her hometown? That’s completely absurd (right??). That theory is...

Here’s the simple recap of Twin Peaks Part 8: Colors! Lights! Sounds! What am I watching?
Now for the longer version, let’s take a careful look at the truly wild (but deceptively simple) phantasmagoria that exploded gorgeously across the world’s television screens on Sunday night:
In South Dakota | We started off in a very normal way (considering what was to come). Bad Coop and Ray have escaped prison, and are driving towards a place called “The Farm” (is it Big Ed’s Gas Farm? Doubtful). Bad Coop still wants that mysterious and vital information from Ray. But...

Carol Lynley (The Poseidon Adventure) was rumored to have the part back in 1991. And theories swirled over the years suggesting Agent Cooper’s trusty Gal Friday might just be a figment of his imagination. But in Sunday’s Twin Peaks, the one and only “Diane” was finally revealed to be none other than Laura Dern. (Nifty that she played his Girl Friday back in Blue Velvet too, huh?) A satisfying moment 27 years in the making (even if most of us guessed and hoped it was coming). Now, Albert (who found her in Max Von’s Bar in Philadelphia – did that...

Premiering at the Los Angeles Film Festival, “Sensitivity Training” is screenwriter and director Melissa Finell’s first feature film. But the filmmaker is no novice; her short film for UCLA, “Disaster Preparedness,” was honored at the Student Academy Awards. Finell enlisted the help of mentor Charles Haid, whom she met while attending UCLA, to executive produce “Sensitivity Training.” The comedy revolves around the upbeat Caroline helping scientist Serena learn to adjust her interactions with her employees. Serena and Caroline are complex, relatable, and genuine characters with very distinct personalities. “I wanted to find actresses who could really embody these two distinct personalities and have great comedic chemistry with each other,” Finell says. Finell met Anna Lise Phillips at a screening party of “One Armed Man” at Haid’s home. “I really enjoyed talking to Anna Lise at the party and found her incredibly smart, sharp-tongued, funny, and charming,” says Finell,...

"Bob is real. He's been having me since I was 12... he says he wants to be in me or he'll kill me."
The piercing screams of Laura Palmer reverberate through Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, David Lynch's brutal 1992 movie prequel that followed the sadly short-lived television series. Slaughtered by critics, shunned by audiences and scrutinised by fans, it was effectively wrapped in plastic and left to drift away like Laura's corpse... until now.
The announcement that 90 minutes of previously unseen footage will soon be released, featuring many regular characters absent from the theatrical cut, has revived interest in this widely perceived artistic misfire from Lynch. Two decades on and free from the burden of expectation, it deserves to be viewed as the director's damn fine misunderstood masterpiece.
The movie prequel takes us back a year before the series, to the murder of Teresa Banks by 'Killer Bob'. Our...

The death of Philip Seymour Hoffman will not delay production on his final film, the second part of the Hunger Games franchise, while two Sundance premieres are slated for release this year
• Philip Seymour Hoffman: full coverage
Philip Seymour Hoffman had shot the majority of his scenes for the final two films of the sci-fi saga The Hunger Games prior to his death, according to reports.
Variety said there were just seven days left of the shoot for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which has been shooting back to back with Part 1 in Atlanta, Berlin and Paris. Hoffman played the increasingly important role of Plutarch Heavensbee, but it is understood his death will not cause delays or reshoots for the two-part project. Mockingjay – Part 1 is due for release in November this year, with Part 2 arriving in November 2015. The second film is likely to be Hoffman's final to arrive in cinemas.
