More of a performance than stand-up

This is an interesting show to revisit. I remember liking the show and being moved by it the first time watching it, but never felt the each to return to it. Now that I have rewatched it I remember the appeal of it, but it is a mixed bag in terms of it´s presentation, premise and what it sets out to do. Anders Matthesen has always been a great storyteller when it comes to his comedy, but the balance between comedy and storytelling isn't the strongest here.

Anders Matthesen tries to unwind who he really is by trying to find items that are him.

The concept and the execution of the show is good, but I think the overall message and the way it´s delivered is conflicting. It´s partly a philosophical speech a to who you are as a person, part theatrical performance and part stand-up comedy and some singing. All parts that are a part of Anders Matthesens persona on stage, but this time they seem fragmented and conflicting with each other.

I love the philosophical debate of presenting the self and the conclusion make so much sense to me. The idea of the show is strong but something Matthesen has tackled before in a stronger way in my opinion.

Because the comedy comes in the way of the show somehow. All of a sudden Matthesen is talking about something, goes on a comedy rant, and then returns to the original topic. The flow isn't that strong here.

The jokes are good but seem more like rants and philosophical discussions more than stand-up. This makes the comedy seem more flat somehow, but it´s still very entertaining.

The ending and the song that accompanies it still moves me like it did the first time. It´s a tough conclusion in terms of self-reflection but it makes so much sense.

The show is still something I will return to eventually, but I most say, it´s one of those I don't want to take down from the shelf soon again, as it is more of a performance than a stand-up show.
