Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is a scene where one of the recorders puts a cross necklace on the window. The camera turns to the right and the old woman is right there. It could be a jumpscare to some people but not always.
  • This movie is shot from a documentary point of view, in the eyes of college students who think that they're doing a documentary on Alzheimer's. It turns out that they're actually filming a documentary about a snake demon that is possessing Deborah Logan. Even though it's never shown, the demon manifests itself by voice changes in Deborah, violent actions, and attacks of anger and spastic fits where Sarah and Mia have to hold her down. It's disturbing without too much gore.
  • The movie is jump scene oriented during suspenseful scenes when they're searching for Deborah, where sometimes you find Deborah in a corner staring at a wall, or suddenly standing in a spot where she wasn't.
  • The young cancer patient that is half-eaten by Deborah is seen beforehand speaking about a man by the river and watching Deborah attack a man with her snake fangs. This is disturbing, especially when she talks about a "nice man."
  • A woman attempts to swallow a young girl whole, unhinging her mouth like a snake.
  • A young girl looks weirdly at a camera, disturbingly. It's implied the snake demon is now possessing the little girl.
