- It's every castaway for themselves, as two tribes become one in this season's merge. Meanwhile, one castaway's thirst for power could earn them a spot on the jury, and jaws drop as the blindside streak continues.
- Previously on 'Survivor': Tony and Sarah made a "cops" alliance, but she was left on her own after the merge. Solana voted out Cliff, then saw Lindsey quit, but they won the next immunity challenge. Aparri voted out Alexis next, with Sarah realizing that Tony has shut her out of their alliance.
Back at camp: The Aparri tribe is feeling pretty good, considering, and Spencer says "everybody is buying into the six," and says they're controlling the game.
They immediately start planning the "final six" and start making their plans for what they'll do if a merge comes. Kass ominously says it all sounds pretty simple, but notes that the "best laid plans" can backfire. Sure enough, the next morning, Kass tells Sarah directly that and she and Jeremiah are the only ones Kass is worried about. Sarah feels like Kass is calling her a liar and says that the downfall of the tribe will be if there is no trust.
Solana: Tony is feeling good, but he says it's "kind of boring" because there's no scrambling going on. Tree mail tells Solana to pack their things and head to the Aparri camp, where they will spend the rest of their time. LJ is excited but nervous because it's six against five and he realizes they don't have numbers. He and Tony both have idols in their pockets.
The Solana tribe arrives and it's all hugs and smiles. Jefra is bummed that Alexis is gone because she thinks she could have easily flipped Alexis to her side.
A note with the merge says there's a new idol with "special powers" hidden somewhere around the camp.
Spencer is shocked that he made it to the merge and feels like he's "in the driver's seat."
Tony realizes that his group is outnumbered, and says his only hope is Sarah.
Tony and Woo talk about bringing Sarah back in. He pulls her aside and tells him she's "honestly floating." He tells her it's "a no brainer," but she tells him she doesn't know if she can promise to vote out Spencer or Kass. Sarah feels like she's "sitting pretty."
She immediately goes back and tells her Aparri mates that LJ doesn't have an idol, but Jeremiah strongly believes that LJ does have one. They talk about voting out Woo, but Sarah bristles when Kass suggests voting out Trish. Sarah is suddenly drunk with power, telling us that Kass shouldn't be picking a fight with her. Kass tells us she doesn't trust Sarah because Sarah is picking and choosing who she will and won't vote out.
The next morning, Trish observes a disagreement between Kass and Sarah. Tasha pulls them aside and tries to mediate. Her main concern, she says, is getting them back on the same page. Kass thinks Tasha takes Sarah's side int he argument. Sarah says she feels like Kass doesn't like her. Kass tells us she feels like the six of them are falling apart.
Immunity challenge: Jeff reveals the individual immunity idol. The players will have to balance on a pyramid-shaped platform, standing on footholds on either side of the pyramid, and moving up toward the top of the pyramid. The first round is 15 minutes and everyone makes it through.
LJ starts to struggle, saying it hurts "everywhere," but hangs in for the next 15 minutes. The transition to the top of the pyramid proves fatal for everyone but Tony, Woo and Morgan, who falls off a few moments later. Finally, after some strong gusts of wind, Tony falls off and Woo wins immunity.
Back at camp: Sarah is still flummoxed as to what to do, but she tells us she's "with the new Aparri," but she acknowledges that the only rift is her and Kass.
The group goes to the beach to discuss and they talk about getting rid of Jefra, but Sarah says she doesn't believe anyone has an idol. She suggests LJ or Tony -- both of whom we know have idols. Sarah's old tribe mates see the whole meeting happening and they realize that Sarah is being "put on a pedestal." Trish thinks she can approach Kass, but Tony says Kass will "play" Trish. Sarah is adamant that Tony doesn't have an idol. Kass tells us she's not happy that Sarah thinks she's running the show. She thinks Sarah is going to tear the game apart, and Kass wants to have the pre-emptive strike.
Tony makes his pitch to Sarah, but she tells us she knows everything he's telling her. He tells her she can be in the top three if she goes to them. She says she's going to make her decision at Tribal Council. Tony doesn't have a good feeling about it and vows that if he feels "iffy" at Tribal Council, he'll play the idol. He says he won't go home with the idol in his pocket.
Trish, meanwhile, makes her pitch to Kass, who seems all too willing to take out Sarah. Trish takes this straight back to LJ and Tony and they all agree they're voting for Sarah. Trish goes back to Kass and tells her they're voting Sarah and that if she's with them they'll "take care" of her.
Kass tells us, "I love that Sarah thinks she's running the show." She realizes that she's the one in the middle and has "usurped Sarah's throne." She says "Chaos Kass" will show up at Tribal Council.
Tribal Council: LJ tells Jeff he feels like he's "in the hottest seat in town right now." Tasha acknowledges that LJ "should be worried" because they're looking to take out the biggest threat. Tony says he hopes people will remember "you don't move on with an alliance with numbers," but rather an alliance of "comfort."
LJ (who we know has an idol) is asked about where idols come into play and he suggests that maybe through some "big 'Survivor' joke" there aren't any, but Tony jumps in and says, "There's idols, because I have one and I'm going to use it for my tribe." Spencer asks him to pull it out, and Tony does. He calls it "a community idol" and he can give it to any of his tribe mates. The former Aparri immediate start buzzing and say, "Alright, we're voting for 'the other one.'" Tony is giddy about having had some impact on the game. The former Solana members all tell each other, "Same. Same. Same."
Jeff wants to get to the vote.
The vote: Jeff asks for an idol, and Tony asks him to "validate it" for him. Jeff confirms it's an immunity idol. Tony say he'd like to give it to LJ.
Jeff starts to give the next part of the speech, but LJ cuts him off and says, "I'd like to cover Tony's ass myself." He pulls out another idol. Sarah, especially, looks completely stunned. The former Solana members are in absolute ecstasy. Jeff confirms it and says any votes for Tony will not count, either.
Jef reads the votes: Jefra (causing an immediate change in the mood among Solana -- LJ and Tony rubs their faces in amazement and Jefra is starting to tear up), Sarah, Jefra, Sarah, Jefra, Sarah, Jefra, Sarah, Jefra, Sarah. It's tied with one vote left. And the seventh person voted out and the first member of the jury is Sarah.
Tony cheers and claps, saying, "Bang, bang."
Sarah is shocked, taking a moment before walk to Jeff. She finally gets up and says, "Who flipped?"
We hear Morgan and Tasha each say, "Not me." Spencer turns and asks, "Kass?" She says nothing, but Jefra leans over and thanks her. Tony backs Kass up, and a frustrated Spencer says, "Kass, zero chance of winning the game!"
"It's a long way to go," Kass says.
Sarah's last words: "I was sitting there calm as can be, waiting for Jeff to pull out that last name. And I'll tell you what, when it said, 'Sarah,' I was, like, 'Huh?' We thought we had a solid set of six. I don't know why Kass flipped, but they got me good."
