forced in growing
yykjugtj9 February 2019
I have read it several times before I finish it. Every once in a while, I have to take a break and do something else. I really can't stand it. I began to think that Li is the unreasonable waywardness of adolescence and the story of later growth. The more I understand, the more she understands that her growth is not to change things, but to compromise. She has always been like this. It's just that her appeal has never been cared for, and each one only cares about what she feels important. As she said, such a thing, there will be more in the future

This is my life
zealous-5439313 December 2018
This movie is to myself not only a movie. It's a journal of my own juven life. I cannot be neutral to criticize this plot. Because I can not judge my lifestyle right or not. They don't learn to understand and be responsible to their mistakes. They only know violence, selfishness, philistine and indifference. This, they won't care others feelings, when they are involved into some issues. All they can do is roaring, compulse the weakness abandon its right. They mentally abuse others, and ironically they eulogize it with "C'est la vie." or "you are too naive to know the truth." They are not truly grown up.

An Oscar-winning direction
TheBigSick4 December 2018
The script is by no means perfect and has even a number of inexplicable plot holes. Nevertheless, that is easily made up by an Oscar-winning direction from Cao Baoping. Confident, suspenseful and economic, Cao's direction sets up the realistic production design, groundbreaking cinematography, and down-to-earth acting performances. Not a single thing gives a bad acting, including the dogs. The smooth storytelling keeps the attention of the audiences towards the very end. The angle and focus of the cameras are both cleverly and carefully chosen by the director. In a nutshell, this is probably the best coming-of-age film ever in Chinese-language.

ok movie

Not bad not good. For some reason, I feel something is missing in the movie. I don't know what. It could be directed and organized better.

I knew it, the director is a man

Warning: Spoilers
Could've been better.

I thought the movie is going somewhere but it just ends up quite flat.

I was really into the movie until the scene cut to the girl showering in the tub with the nude back...think about it okay the girl they are portraying is a teenager. She's a child supposedly I don't see the point of showing a young girl's nude back out of nowhere. The camera lingered for quite a while and it creeped me out. I feel the gaze from a man who thinks he knows better about life of a young woman dealing with sexism and abuse.

Sorry for the rant but I just don't see the point and quite frankly that shot is predatory.
