YouTube sensation Michael Kittrell lands a Manager in Hollywood so his entire family is packing their bags and headed out west. However Michael's Mema is not so excited about what LA holds in store for the family and she's not afraid to give Hollywood a piece of her mind.
Michael's manager lands him an audition for a ginger ale company, but his Mema won't let him go alone. After realizing you can't count on public transportation in LA, DeeDee and Johnny spend the day trying to find the perfect car for the family.
Mema reluctantly gets a makeover in preparation for her first date in thirty years and Michael makes an appearance at a celebrity autograph signing where Dee Dee's dream of meeting a real life celebrity comes true.
Mema is upset the neighbor's have not welcomed the family into town properly, so she decides to take matters into her own hands and go door to door with the family and invite the them over for a southern style dinner party.
Michael's manager sends him out on the biggest audition of his life, but he struggles to prepare with his Mema sharing her unsolicited advice every step of the way. A temp job as a dog walker puts DeeDee and Johnny at odds.
The family heads to world famous Venice Beach for the day but the fun in the sun is short lived when Mema's beach picnic gets ruined by seagulls, and the family harasses Michael with dating advice. The day ends with Mema dropping in on the wildest bingo games in town.
Michael gives stand-up comedy a shot but struggles to get a word in between hecklers, who just happen to all be member's of his family. Dee Dee surprises Paul with boudoir photos for their anniversary while he and Johnny struggle to bake a cake.
Michael meets rap icon Too Short and decides it's time to buckle down and show Hollywood he is here to stay. Mema and the family go shopping on world famous Melrose Avenue before unexpectedly ending up at the hottest nightclub in town.
Michael and the family head to Las Vegas to celebrate his 21st birthday but things get a little too crazy for Mema's comfort level. The boys are in cahoots on a surprise that will leave the family speechless in the middle of the Las Vegas strip.
With the clock ticking on Michael's time in LA, he knows it's now or never for him to land a gig in Hollywood. He decides to focus on his true passion of making music and give it one last shot. The family has some tough choices to make as they contemplate their future in LA.
