The movie is based on the real life experience of writer/director Vindana Ariyawansa. He is suffering from a chronic case of obsessive-compulsive disorder and is under treatment going on over nine years.
Kalpana Ariyawansa and Vindana Ariyawansa became the first brothers to direct a movie together in the seventy year history of Sri Lankan cinema.
Sathis Wijemanne who plays the psychiatrist in the movie is actually a plastic surgeon in real life.
His wife Chamanthi Wijemmane, also a doctor working at Sri Lankan family health bureau plays the character of therapist Renuka.
Some supporting roles were played by non-professionals actors who were close friends of the Ariyawansa brother's.
Director/writer brothers Kalpana and Vindana used their house, apartments, friend's offices, houses and the only Starbucks coffee shop in Sri Lanka which is owned by Vindana's best friend for locations. All the locations other than two pharmacies and the mental hospital were either their own or owned by their close friends.
