Despite the lurid title, no one gets shot in this long actuality from Lubin. Instead, it's another panorama, as indicated in the movie's alternative title, of the devastation wrought on San Francisco by the Earthquake and subsequent fire.
Unlike the Edison actualities of the same subjects, the panorama movement goes to the left instead of to the right, and there are people seen from the beginning. This, I think lends it an emotional impact superior to Bonine's. Life goes on, even if it means picking through the rubble looking for..... what?
