Funniest show in ages
thomasmcdaniel36013 August 2014
I first learned of The Hotwives on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast (episode 298 on earwolf.com - listen to it!) and was immediately hooked by the first episode. This is PREMIUM satire. I don't know how they got all these hilarious people to do a Hulu show, but I'm glad they did. I'm not here to provide spoilers, just to let you know that this show starts funny and keeps getting better. It walks the line between traditional and absurdist satire perfectly. I hope they do multiple seasons, but the fact that they got all this talent together to do even one is amazing. Oh, I just learned that I have to provide 10 lines of text for this review to go up. Okay, here's the AAA cast - Angela Kinsey (The Office). Andrea Savage (Funny or Die Presents). Casey Wilson (SNL). Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Concords, Bob's Burgers, stand up). Tymberlee Hill (Just Phe Phe being Phe Phe!). Danielle Schneider (co-creator, hilarious podcaster). They work together brilliantly, but I must admit that Amanda (Schaal) and Phe Phe (Hill) are my favorites.

So funny!

As a central Florida native I just had to check this out. I knew nothing about this show when I watched the first episode but I was instantly hooked. What a great spoof on all those vapid housewife shows.

HYSTERICAL
jennfinn28 March 2020
If you've ever watched any of the Real Housewives shows then you will get a kick outta this hysterical spoof. Casey Wilson (Tawny) reminds me of Gretchen from RHOC, she's waiting/hoping for her older husband to die while she bangs her fitness instructor Heath (Joey McIntyre). Angela Kinsey (Crystal) plays a pious wife who wears a huge cross around her neck and does whatever her husband tells her to. She reminds me of Ramona from the RHNY. Danielle Schneider (Shauna) is a riot and will surely remind you of Teresa from RHNJ. I don't normally like Kristen Schaal (Amanda) but in this she is funny as a former child star (she was in a Florida prune juice commercial as a child) who has a lot of issues. Andrea Savage (Veronica) is my spirit animal and she's amazing in everything she appears in. Shout out to Stephen Tobolowsky (Phil) as Tawny's rich older husband who is clueless to his wife's antics and Sterling Knight (Billy) as Veronica's high school boy toy.

Unbelievably funny satire

..: I haven't laughed so hard in years, and some hidden truths about reality TV are revealed... The casting is great, the writing is great, the premises is great… I just got into it but am already looking forward to the next episode. Don't forget to check out the reunion episode – it's ridiculously hilarious... Very, very funny.

You need to CALM DOWN!

Warning: Spoilers
If you loathe reality TV and specifically The Real Housewives series as much as I do, then you'll love the Hotwives. Written and staring Danielle Schneider and Dannah Phirman, their spoof is spot-on.

You should recognize about half the cast and luckily the newbies are just as hilarious as their well known peers. Kristen Schaal may have the least screen time, but stands out with her quirky faces, scene-stealing one-liners and dead pan delivery. I don't know about you, but I've had, "I'm just being Phe Phe" stuck in my head for two days. Tymberlee Hill cracks me up, she is perfect in this role. There aren't that many series that make me laugh out loud anymore, see 30 Rock, so this parody is a welcome treat.

Binge watch it today!

Easy watching with a great cast!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I've always been a fan of "The Real Housewives" franchise so when I heard that there was an actual parody series about it, I checked it out. I didn't know what to expect at first but as soon as the intro for the first episode played, I knew that I was really going to enjoy it and I did! The Hotwives of Orlando follows the lives of 6 women: Amanda, Veronica, Phe Phe, Shauna, Crystal & Tawny (each played by the comedic geniuses: Kristen Schaal, Andrea Savage, Tymberlee Hill, Danielle Schneider, Angela Kinsey & Casey Wilson) who are based off of various Real Housewives (you can pretty much figure them all out instantly). The first season features 6 episodes plus a Reunion special bringing its total to 7. It's such a fun, easy watching show that provides entertainment, laughs and a sense of déjà vu for anybody who's seen any of the housewives shows. If you like those kind of things, then this is something for you! The performances from the 6 leading ladies and the supporting cast are fantastic, I can't imagine it with a different cast because of how great they all are. Each episode runs for about 22-24 minutes which is perfect as it's not too long and not too short.
