When a clone is more intelligent than all the jedi put together
evansjoshyr4 January 2021
The best thing that clone wars ever did was humanize the clones and make them deep characters. Through the show, there has been a lot of development in 2 clones in particular (rex and fives) who have been the centre of many arcs. This final arc with fives is a brilliant one where he even discovers palpatine's identity before a single jedi. A true testament to how undermined the clones are by the jedi and how clever they can be if given the opportunity.

The mission, the nightmares... they're finally... over.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode and this arc is pretty much the most important from the entire show. This arc shows why Palpatine was able to turn the whole clone army against the Jedi so easily, and also how long he had been planning it.

The ending was very emotional too. Maybe the saddest moment from the whole series, at least for me. Fives was so close to ruining Palpatine's plans and saving the entire galaxy, but nobody believed him. The final interaction between Fives and Rex has been stuck in my head for the last few days.

I think this episode was perfect. The writing, the voice acting and the music were all absolutely amazing. What else can I say than 10/10.

Ingenious and In-Sidious
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic4 October 2020
Here the full extent of the plan of Order 66 is revealed and the plot of how the clone Fives tries to warn the Jedi is brought to a powerful conclusion.

We see how Sidious cleverly undermines and twists things and how his plan has been in place all along. It adds greatly to the heartbreak of Order 66 bringing more depth and more logic to the storyline.

One bit I was slightly perplexed by was Palpatine risking letting Fives escape and tell the Jedi about things. Of course, Palpatine by that stage has the evidence and knows he can portray Fives as infected but at the time I thought it was far more risky than just killing him.

Anyway, Palpatine keeps to a clever and devious plan and this arc was a great addition with a dark and powerful climax in this episode.

My rating: 9.5/10.

Truly amazing

Warning: Spoilers
This episode closes up one of the best and most important The Clone Wars arcs very well.

It gives you a much more clear view of how Order 66 could even occur without the Jedi noticing. This episode also shows us that the Jedi Council indeed was onto something and catching up with Chancellor Palpatine's plans. But with Fives death, the only person knowing about Order 66 that investigation faded away from the Jedi.

Definitely one of the most enjoyable and interesting arcs as I said, and this episode to end the story is truly amazing. It shows us what a great soldier, what a great Clone Fives really was. As well as more depth into how Order 66 could take place in ep. III.

This is a must see.

The nightmares
Trey_Trebuchet26 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I always thought the clones were some of the best characters in this show. All of the episodes about the clones and their warfare are some of the most well-written and refined episodes in my opinion.

I like that this arc reveals that the clones had no say in if they did or did not kill the Jedi years down the road. I can't imagine being a clone. Dreaming about killing your generals and friends and just shrugging it off.

Fives was a great character and I loved this four-episode arc dedicated to him. I can't believe how close he got to foiling the Sith's plans! It's so infuriating!

His death was so emotional. I definitely didn't see that coming. Very rarely does Star Wars bring tears to my eyes, but this one damn near did.

I'm glad this Netflix-produced season doesn't feel like a Netflix show and feels very in line with the first five seasons (so far).

Very strong start.

Clones had the worst life I can prove why.
hcoldwell13 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Before I prove I want to say I never thought I would get more emotional then ahsoka leaving the order until 4 episodes later and my favourite clone died. Typical.

He was so close yet so far. However if only Anakin wasn't so attached to the chancellor he might of listened to fives rather then be in denial. Anyway the nightmares really got me because the worst thing a soldier could imagine is turning on their generals that they trust with their lives and the fact they have that nightmare all the time shows the agony these clones were free. And when the inhibitor chip gets removed they were free. The mission referring to the infamous order 66 means they knew all along but it was a nightmare to them so it must of not meant much. Anyway what an Episode.

What an Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Fives is just amazing broo it's really heartbreaking. Its no wonder palpatine becomes the emperor. He plans way ahead of everyone. Its so sad how hopeless the situation has become. Fives was so close I mean it's not fair but life is like this right not fair. Fives brother you will be remembered.

One of the best arcs in TCW
rokobene3 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This whole ark is amazing. It is truly frustrating to think that, if Rex and Skywalker would've verified Fives' information and took him seriously, or if Fives didn't get drugged, we wouldn't have gotten Order 66. But no, The Jedi believed Palpatine's excuse, remaining in complete ignorance, and not realising what 1 clone amongst so many did.

If fives would've stayed alive, even with his memory erased afterwards, for example, it would've been so interesting, because while every clone would be slaughtering Jedi, fives would help them, and kill clones.

Man if only Fives' destiny wasn't this unfair..

Excellent
FiRE01016 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Very rarely does a character death tear me up inside for years after I watch it. The death of Fives still tears me up inside. His death does an excellent job at providing a deep sense of injustice. He dies not for reasons of his own fault, but simply because he was loopy. All along he was right, and just no one would take him completely seriously. It cleverly uses the Star Wars lore to execute this plot line, and as I've said I feel the strong emotions it ignites and the uniqueness of it leaves a mighty strong impression.

Just amazing
leebourke8815 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have been watching the clone wars over the last few months and it has definitely got more and more interesting as the seasons have gone on. The story lines have gotten deeper and more interesting, where you can get to know and understand the characters more and start to even feel for them. This episode is the epitome of that.

One thing that has gotten more interesting with each season, is how much darker they have got, especially with regards to Palestine's plot and order 66, which we all know what happens before watching this. Watching that unfold has been fantastic for the franchise as it gives a deeper understanding as to palatine's plans and how it was executed. This is the episode where it is all but confirmed that the plan is in full swing.

Loved every minute of it.
