Good Insight
chiefstingy5 June 2019
This show is not for everyone. But it does have good writing which makes you really enjoy the characters. The amount of character development is amazing.

With that said people who do not play D&D or LARP probably will not get the jokes. Good thing there is a huge insurgence of D&D lately.

This show was just a bit too ahead for its time.

Insight and Intrigue

A funny little web series based off of LARPer and gamer experiences. Similar to "The Guild", you get to follow the shenanigans of Evan (The DM) trying desperately to wrangle a story for his players, though sometimes events happen to derail that.

Amusing for both gamer and non-gamer alike, it opens up the world to the perceptions of LARPers both in and outside of the genre.

The web show that changed my life
adsasori2 November 2020
You might ask your self. An 8 for a life changing show? The answer is yes. This show got me into larping and introduced me to an amazing community. The show it self is thrilling, breathtaking and full of heart. The producers and actors put their heart and soul into the show and it shows. A must watch web show

Funny and engaging series

Although set against the background of an ongoing LARP, this is all about the interpersonal relationships, with a character driven plot that engages you and makes you care what happens as the story unfolds. A fantastic series that is easy to watch. If you are not LARPing this might make you want to give it a go, if you are LARPing, you might have a few moments of Deja-vu.

Lots of fun.

Great series. If you 'The Guild,' fantasy, RPGs, DnD, or nerd culture in general. This series will be right up your alley. If none of those things, sound great... well, this probably isn't your cup of tea.

The basic premise is a group of friends who fantasy live action role play. The acting is pretty good. Every actor really gets into their role. I really like how the GM plays convincing NPCs. He's really good at changing his voice to fit the character, he plays. The other characters are also interesting as well. The series gets better with each episode. Season two definitely raises the bar compared to season one on every level (plot, effects, budget, and bigger cast). If you like fantasy stuff, give it a shot.

An endearing exploration of Live Action Role-Playing tropes.

An endearing exploration of Live Action Role-Playing tropes. It is very well written, acted, and produced. I found myself hooked by the humor and storyline within the first couple of episodes, and ended up binging both seasons (as of this writing, there's momentum building for a 3rd season). So good and rewatchable!

Fans of The Guild, AFK, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, Standard Action and more will easily fall in love LARPs. Enjoy!

Great series!

Really fun and funny independent web series! Even without ever LARPing or being in that scene I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it very entertaining. Definitely check out episode 0 immediately, it's only a couple minutes and you will be hooked!

Super good
llabak-088562 November 2020
Every time I watch LARPs I am impressed anew by the writing, acting, and production values, made even more impressive given that it was produced as a 2014 web series.

The entire creative team should be commended (and were with quite a few awards) for their product and I hope that some day they can bring a third season to light.

Do yourself a favor and watch this through whatever streaming platform you can find.

Not Bad
eatcrowepls4 August 2018
This show isn't great but it's also not bad. If you're not into LARPing you're obviously not going to enjoy this show or get anything out of it. It's not a high quality production and none of the actors are stars. But if you're into the scene and get what they're doing here it's definitely worth watching and there's lots of fun to be had.

Fantastic look at LARPing
phyrehawk2 November 2020
This is an awesome little web series and one of the best things to come out of Geek and Sundry. It follows the adventures of a group of friends as they play in their fantasy live action role play and seeing how it affects their lives and relationships.

It is probably THE best presentation of LARP in media, actually showing it as the hobby that so many know and love rather than the butt of a joke like films like Role Models.

It's definitely worth your time and is brilliant piece of storytelling.

A series to explain role-playing
sparkythesloth16 March 2021
The episodes are short, the budget is low and the acting is novice. Despite the limitations of an indie endeavor into film, this is the only representation I have seen of role-playing that doesn't focus upon outsider geek domain or attempt a version of immersive comedy. Instead you are presented with ordinary people enjoying a hobby that tests their commitment to each other and their workplace.

Different but very clever
veskit-7457331 December 2020
It isn't just a LARP, it swings from real life to the LARP in ways that are very well written.

My hobby, without the cheese!
aphrodite_2oo29 February 2021
As someone who has actively been part of several LARPs for 20+ years, I found this and fell in love with it! It is so very much like my friends and myself over the years, and shows how involved players become in the characters at times and how we are tight knit communities that don't hesitate to poke fun at one another.

Sceptic becomes superfan
witsthus6 November 2020
A Mini series that has believable characters, conflict, romance and a nerdy backdrop. These guys portray a world they know intimately and take you along for a ride I scarcely expected. I watched the third episode thoroughly prepared to turn away after a chance link suggestion. I binged the whole show like a movie thereafter, and still do.
