We’re big horror geeks here at Movies.com, but we’re even geekier for talented women who make horror movies. In this case, we’re talking about 14-year-old Emily Diprimio who is a card-carrying member of the fright-flick fan club. She recently directed her own movie called Carver, which is a throwback to the slasher films of the 1980s. The whole project started when she was only 13. Diprimio is reminiscent of another favorite female filmmaker — Grow Up, Tony Phillips director Emily Hagins, who made her indie horror film Pathogen at 12. Diprimio used Kickstarter to fund Carver, which is currently in postproduction. In anticipation of the final film, Emily has released a trailer for Carver, which shows a lot of promise. In the early stages of the project...

14-year-old Emily Diprimio is a huge horror movie fan, and she set out to make her own original '80s throwback slasher film called Carver. She started her journey last year when she was only 13-years-old and launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund it.
She surpassed her fundraising goal, shot the film, and is now in the post-production process of development. She's released a trailer for the fun looking movie which is described as "a story about revenge and redemption" filled with "plenty of scares and we promise, No CGI Blood!”
To follow the film's production, head on over to Emily's Blog on the film's website where she talks about the process of making the movie. Her dad is helping her out with the film, and there's a lot of heart behind the project. It will be cool to watch the final product. I especially love that she is making...

Many people carve pumpkins around Halloween, but someone masked by pumpkin flesh and wielding a scythe is only interested in cutting into humans to celebrate the season. This antagonist is shown in the first trailer for Carver, a slasher film co-written and directed by 14-year-old Emily Diprimio that hearkens back to the genre’s 1980′s heyday with its masked killer and practical gore.
“Carver is about a group of teenagers who are haunted by a despicable act they committed when they were younger. Their actions caused the deaths of three innocent people. Now on the anniversary of those deaths an ominous calling card, in the form of a carved pumpkin has been placed at each of their homes. Someone is out for revenge…the question is who?

I don't know what it is about young girls named Emily, but they seem to have a penchant for making horror films. First came 12-year-old Emily Hagins, who directed the zombie movie Pathogen, and then came 13-year-old Emily Diprimio, who dreamed of making an 80s-style slasher called Carver.
If that project sounds familiar to you, it's probably because we covered it here on Dread last September, when the Kickstarter campaign was launched for the film. Almost exactly one year later, to the day, the trailer for the successfully funded slasher has arrived, and we invite you to check it out below!
Written and directed by both Emily and her father, Ron, Carver is about a group of teenagers who are haunted by a despicable act they committed on Halloween when they were younger. Their actions caused the deaths of three innocent people. Now, on the anniversary of those deaths, an...

Around this time last year we were telling you about Emily Diprimio - a 13-year-old who was out to make a slasher film and was turning to crowd funding to make that happen. A year later, Emily's now 14 and her film is completed.
The trailer made its debut today...and it looks like a fun slasher film. And did she work a crane shot in there? Damn, that's cool. I certainly wasn't doing this at 14!
