An Awesome Riff Show Out of Nowhere!
starlimitz217 January 2017
This show has made me laugh almost as much as Mystery Science Theater 3000, which is a lot! Once you get into the actual atmosphere of the show, and accept the show as a love letter to Joel, Mike and the Bots, it's very easy to get into the swing of it. The bots are not the best voice acted, but again, it takes a little getting use to. The movies they riff are very good pallets of bad movies, which helps a great deal.

The plot line is that they were trapped in a movie theater by a mad scientist during a zombie apocalypse. It's simple, derivative, and honestly doesn't matter a great deal, what matters is that their riffing of movies is hysterical, and their skits in between are witty, and comedic timing are on par with some of the better MST3K skits.

Yes, I compare it to MST3K, but really, that's a good thing. As I said before, it is very much inspired and birthed of the love for that wonderful show. So, if you love riffing, and you love crazy comedy without too much sense to hold it down, definitely take a look at this show, and support the creator, as the episodes are very cheap to purchase on their official website. And above all else, do enjoy.

MST3K With a Heavy Metal Edge

This is an excellent show, more in the vein of MST3K than MST3K's own spin-offs, Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic. A host and a couple of robots are put under circumstances where they are forced to watch bad moves. They keep their sanity by mocking the films as they play out.

The first season was the best in my opinion, because they watched full length bad movies. The "host segments" in this first season had a little bit to be desired, but the whole thing was still a great homegrown homage to MST3K.

The second season had AMAZING host segments, but I was a tad disappointed that they pitched the films and went with shorts. Luckily, the riffing is on point so I didn't mind so much, and sometimes the shorts on MST3K were the best parts. Luckily, the season 2 finale will be a riff a full length film.

Can't wait to see how this little project grows. If it aired on TV I might lower the rating I gave it to like an 8 or 9, but for a bunch of people making this in their free time, it's exceptional. One of my favorite current shows.

VideoMonkey Approved
VideoMonkey29 July 2014
You would think this show was created with us VideoMonkeys in mind. It has Robots, Zombies, and Bad Movies, three of the mainstay ingredients in any VideoMonkey's diet. In fact, I think the only thing missing is gratuitous tits (although some of the bad movies might have a little like the Lady Frankenstein did)...but the riffing (another thing dear to the heart of any VideoMonkey) more than makes up for any lack of nudity. Truly, the riffing is right on par with the likes of MST3k (which the show emulates) or RiffTrax.

If you are a fellow VideoMonkey, or would like to one day be one, this is definitely a show worth checking out. The DVDs are worth of being called DVDs with tons of extra features and be sure and check out the ICWXP YouTube channel for more excellent fun and Resident Evil reviews. The only sucky thing about ICWXP is that there isn't more of it to enjoy...
