Pete Boone, Australia's worst private detective, is asked by a client Connie Nutch to find her missing aunt Mabel. Upon investigating, he meets with such characters as her mysterious gardener James, and Terrence who claims to be her husband.
Pete Boone is having his morning shower, when he is accosted by, firstly, Rimski Korsett, a famous Russian Ballet dancer (who is defecting), and, secondly, by Boris Lobonov, a Russian Diplomat. Pete decides to help Rimski stay in Australia.
Pete Boone gets involved in a serial killer investigation after his client, Mrs Gilmour, becomes the next victim. Inspector Gravel suspects the detective. Unfortunately, Pete decides that a parking fine case is much more important.
Pete Boone, Ausralia's Worst Private Eye, after dealing with a mouse problem, finds two people, Mary-Lou Keeting and Buster Zepplin, wanting his services. Before they can reveal their intentions, both end up dead in his office.
A seance takes place in an isolated mansion in a storm. Madwana, the mystic, is killed midway through conducting the session when a blackout occurs. Pete Boone is elected by the remaining guests to solve the murder.
