A solid episode.

Super Franchise me sees Marge take up a sandwich making franchise, and learn about the true nature of competition.

The Simpsons take the reins at a fast food restaurant, churning out sandwiches, wait a minute, haven't they done this before? I am convinced they have done the same, or maybe a similar story before.

I liked it, and whilst I didn't think it was as good as the previous episode, I still enjoyed it. It was nice to see the family operating as a complete unit, and it did have some good funny moments, everyone was on form.

A few knocks to the corporations, and perhaps rightly so, but it wasn't overly preachy.

Good 7/10.

Notable more for a somewhat esoteric couch gag than anything else

Warning: Spoilers
This is a review of the Simpsons' episode, Super Franchise Me. There will be spoilers ahead:

This is a reasonably decent episode of the show, with some good gags, though it certainly won't be considered a high point for the season. It's entertaining, if not terribly special.

For me, the highlight of the show was the couch gag, which shows my age. For the most part, the gag is largely a series of drawings of various characters set to the song, "Tea For the Tillerman" sung by Cat Stevens. The drawings are done to reflect the style of the drawing used as the cover for the album and the drawings are tied to the lyrics, with Homer drinking tea, Bart eating a steak, Marge and her sisters sipping wine, a three-eyed seagull flying, Mr. Burns dumping nuclear waste and kids on a swing, all connected to the lyrics. It becomes animated as Lisa and Bart start swinging, with Ralph remaining motionless save for his eyes. It works perfectly, but it helps if you know the song a bit.

As for the episode, Marge decides they need more income, so she buys a sandwich franchise. After their low-end help turns out to be unreliable, the family starts working there. Maggie has a nice bit where she works the register (and one particular customer) getting complimented by Marge and the customer. There are some good gags here and there, the standout being Mr. Burns falling for a cardboard cutout of the franchise symbol.

Things go sour when Cletus and Brandine open up another franchise store for the same company, using their multitude of children as cheap labor to stay open around the clock. Their commercial for the store is disgustingly hilarious! Marge finally manages to salvage things and they close the shop without too much trouble.

This is well worth seeing if you currently like the show.

Slightly Disappointing after Two Strong Episodes Previously,
lesleyharris3022 November 2014
Super Franchise Me is a good Simpsons with a well written storyline and several very funny scenes. The twenty sixth season started off very strong with Clown in the Dumps, followed by the even better Wreck of the Relatioship, but I was pretty disappointed by this episode,it's not awful but it's pretty mediocre and is certainly a forgetful moment in Simpsons history. It was fun seeing Marge start a sandwich franchise, and was even better once the other family members got involved,it was certainly enjoyable while it lasted. Not an unforgettable Simpsons but Super Franchise Me is still funny and easy to watch.

Marge starts her own sandwich store, but running a business proves challenging, especially when a rival opens up across the street.

This one is a good one from 2014, season 26. A great episode with wacky antics and crazy gags! Still keeps "The Simpsons" worthwhile of watching. Lots of serious laughs here and some great voice-acting. Nice to see a Simpsons episode that really manages to make you laugh many times.

Super Franchise Me

This was a fun episode, with a lot of strong jokes along the way.

It does falter slightly towards the end, running out of steam as it tries to tie everything together.

This episode feels like a slight rip off of Bob's Burgers
celiawatsonanime3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The problem is this episode happened after the release of Bob's Burgers.

I know it's sandwiches instead of burgers but, the whole family working together in the restaurant feels like such a borrowed idea.
