- Tony considers turning on members of his alliance in order to gain more power; contestants struggle during an immunity challenge involving memorization.
- Previously on 'Survivor': LJ and Tony used hidden idols for each other and Kass flipped to join their alliance. Everyone later went in search for one hidden idol, but Spencer found it alone. This idol doesn't hold the special powers of the still-hidden one that is said to exist. At Tribal Council, Morgan was ousted.
Back at camp: Tony is upset that his name was written down and he asks Spencer to tell him "why it's a compliment." Tony is starting to get paranoid, thinking he could be gone next.
LJ and Trish discuss whether Tony is now going to be in "scramble mode," and Trish tells us she's worried about Tony doing something stupid.
We next see Tony admitting to LJ that he couldn't sleep after Tribal. Tony tells us he would like to see LJ gone and says he's going to try to "trick" LJ into breaking a promise he's made to the alliance. Tony continues to talk to LJ about voting Woo out, suggesting that Woo has an idol. Tony got what he wanted: coercing LJ into making the suggestion that Woo should be voted out. He's clearly trying to turn sentiment against LJ.
After getting Tree Mail, Tony is determined to win the reward challenge, because the reward appears to be a "spa day," where bonds can easily be formed.
Reward challenge: Divided into three teams of three, the players will have to throw sandbags through a netted tunnel, then bounce those sandbags off a trampoline into five baskets. The first team to get a sandbag in each of the five baskets wins reward: a spa day.
Jefra, Trish and LJ; Kass, Tasha and Woo; and Spencer, Tony and Jeremiah are the three teams.
Tony's team, with Tony thrown bags, lands three bags quickly. And Tony makes two more bags before any other team even lands one. Tony, Spencer and Jeremiah win reward. Tony tells us he's going to make a move with Spencer and Jeremiah to blindside LJ. Tony emphasizes this point by cleverly defining the word "opportunist," saying we "might as well call [him] 'The Opportunist,'" because he sees an opportunity and he takes advantage of it.
Woo says it's good to know that Tony is going to "keep and eye on" Spencer and Jeremiah and make sure they don't jeopardize his game plan with Tony. Jefra also tells us she believes in the "core six."
LJ talks with Trish and Jefra about Tony's paranoia, but tells us he trusts in Tony's loyalty. Trish tells LJ that she'll handle calming Tony down.
At the reward, Spencer is happy to be paired with Jeremiah, and he's eager to see where Tony's head is at. The three start talking strategy, telling us he's going to "do the thinking for" Spencer and Jeremiah because they're desperate. Tony tells the two of them that he won't push to vote them out in the next Tribal Council because he might need to keep them around for when he needs to make a move later. Spencer tells us he doesn't really trust Tony, but is willing to tell Tony what he wants to hear for now.
Back at camp: Tasha is starting to worry about being outnumbered, and she's targeting LJ -- thinking he's willing to realize that Tony won't take another strong guy to the end. She asks LJ to go meet her, but he doesn't go because he's worried it will shake Tony's nerves and he trusts Tony.
Immunity challenge: It's a memory challenge, Jeff will call out a series of colors and the players will have to repeat them back to him by dropping colored tiles into a chute.
Trish is the first one out after getting the second color wrong. Woo goes next, getting the third color wrong.
In the next round, Jefra, Kass, Spencer and Jeremiah are wiped out at once, leaving LJ, Tasha and Tony in the game. On the final color, Tasha wins.
LJ tells us the votes just need to be split between Spencer and Jeremiah.
Back at camp: LJ present his idea of splitting the vote, but Tony is still quietly working his suggestion that Woo has an idol and should go. Tony agrees to the plan, but says he is going to start working against LJ.
Tony goes to Woo and tells him LJ wants to blindside him. Woo is stunned and agrees to turn on LJ. Tony goes to Spencer next and tells him that the plan is to make a move on LJ. Spencer is happy to take what he can get, and he goes to Jeremiah and tells him about Tony's plan.
Tony goes to Trish and tells her that LJ was wanting to vote Woo out. Trish is telling Tony she's not sure about voting LJ out. Trish tells us there's no way she's going to break up the six. Tony tells us he might have to bend and stick with the alliance just to save their feelings.
Tribal Council: Jeremiah immediately talks about the "strong six" alliance and Kass says "you can't play this game without getting a little dirty." Tony says you never know what's going to happen, but he brought his "little bag of tricks," suggesting he has an idol.
LJ says "there's no need to cause anxiety amongst the group" and says they're "very tight." LJ says he has a sharp eye for loyalty. Tony claims he's a construction worker again, and says loyalty is important in that line of work. Woo acknowledges that they're going to get to a tie when they're going to have to make some moves against their own alliance.
The vote: Spencer writes down LJ's name and says his fingers are crossed.
Jeff reads the votes: LJ, LJ, LJ, Jeremiah, Jeremiah, Jeremiah, Spencer, LJ, and the ninth person voted out is LJ.
There's some shock and surprise, and Tony walks away with a smirk.
LJ's last words: "So, I was clearly blindsided. It's very hard to find the balance between patience and being assertive, because if you move too soon, you can bite yourself in the butt. But if you wait too long, you can see yourself looking into a lens, saying, 'Where did I go wrong?'"
