- 'The battle' is an exquisite experimental short. Taking the viewer on an artistic and imaginative journey to a mythical place of medieval heroes and villains. Beautiful impressionistic illustrations depict the storyline, whilst a rich and vivid descriptive narrative combines with sensory audio to round off the experience.
The story portrays the struggle between man and his desire for war as it interrupts the serene and peaceful status quo of nature. An ephemeral dream like essence is evoked through a combination of impressionistic imagery and sensory audio in conjunction with the narrative. The unique amalgamation lends itself greatly to this original myth of King Arthur, bringing the art to life and providing a level of storytelling greater than the sum of its parts.
Each image has been painted by hand by Artist Mark Nathan Willetts who also wrote, narrated and produced every aspect of this short.
