"Wake" is a 2012 American live action short film, so this one is already over 5 years old and it was directed by Lin Oeding and written by Matt Olmstead and I think both did a pretty good job with this one. So doed the cast. It is a little action crime movie that has brother and sister reunited at their father's funeral. The son is a convict and of course things don't go as smoothly as the police hoped they would. On the contrary actually as the situation gets messy pretty quickly afterward. Not messy for the audience though as this is an entertaining film and honestly I can even see a full feature film worked that elaborates on the premise and background we have in this really short film, even if it probably seems rather unlikely such a project still gets greenlit, not only because of the time passed since this came out. And I as a straight male can only say that Serinda Swan does indeed look stunning. But that's not the only fine aspect in here. There are many more. By the way, the 3 minutes it says here on imdb are not correct as, even without closing credits, this one runs for almost 4 minutes. All in all, maybe I think the imdb rating is a bit too high at almost 9 out of 10, but it was a good watch and I think you should check it out. Thumbs-up for the nice idea and execution here. See it.
