waste of great potential...
fluffset13 August 2014
At first 30 minutes, I thought this movie will change all those stereotypes malaysian gangster with its creative plot but unfortunately its the same thing too. Over-stylish gangster dressing (like yakuza), night club meeting, sexy woman, and you will know if you watch every mobster movie of Malaysia. The real problem in malaysian film industry is they make preparation for a movie like they make 2 minute hot cup maggi. You will notice that korean director always took a long time to make a new movie after their success, like Joon-Ho Bong (Memories Of Murder), Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy), Na Hong-Jin (The Chaser). They don't like us, our director is so prolific, like 5 movie a year (Takashi Miike are prolific too but he is cinephile) They always took about 3 years just to make the script. The pre-production is the most important thing, I think the scriptwriter give a lot of concentration and thought for the first 30 minute but lost his mind in the last hour. Its a waste of great potential, although this movie have better brutal scene and action but the important thing is the plot. So, I hope after this Brando Lee can make a better movie with a good preparation, he got a big potential because of his bravery to make a better gangster movie like this. I believe with the strong script and the right director will sure make a great movie.
