Strangely compelling

An offbeat story about schoolboy Hime Arikawa, who finds himself responsible for excessive financial debts run up by his parents. As he's being threatened by a couple of 'debt collectors', a group of schoolgirls from the School Council step in, give the thugs a beat-down, and send them on their way. The girls agree to cover the debts (I guess they have wealthy parents) - but at a price. Hime must dress and act like a girl for the entire remaining time that he's at school, as their 'pet' or experiment.

It's a bizarre setup. I intended to watch the first episode or two out of simple curiosity (honest!). Thing is, after the second I watched the third. And then the fourth. And almost before I knew it, I'd watched all 13 (they're just four minutes long). The story does pull you in. It's chiefly a comedy centered around the increasingly embarrassing ordeals that the girls put him through, but it has its touching moments too, particularly towards the end.

I can't say that it's something I'll ever watch again, but I also can't say that I regret watching it. 6.5/10.

Thought this anime was over the top to watch and rather too overrated. Sorry but Princess Princess and Ouran High School Host Club is a lot better then this I'm afraid..

Fun, but know what you're in for

Warning: Spoilers
This anime is not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. The episodes are short (clocking in at around four minutes each) and there are only 13. Not much happens in the way of story or character development. The basic premise is that the main character, Hime Arikawa, has a debt placed in his name by his parents. Due to this, he is being pursued by lone sharks and mobsters that intend to collect. In order to escape this debt, Hime has the student council at his school pay it off for him. The catch is that he has to spend the rest of high school cross-dressing as part of the deal. After this the story doesn't really go anywhere narrative-wise. The remaining 48 minutes of the show are based around situational humor, mostly involving cross dressing. The student counsel takes Hime to buy bras, do photo shoots, and cosplay. That is about it. Personally, I found this anime to be hilarious. It may not have much substance, but I found the characters to be quite likable and the situations that they were dragged into became a lot funnier as a result. I did not feel like I wasted my time at all unlike many others that have watched this anime. On a technical level, this anime is pretty good as well. The animation is colorful and drawn well and the voice acting is good for this kind of anime. Objectively speaking, this anime is probably around a 6/10 due to the slim amount of character development and lack of an overall narrative, but for me, its about an 8/10 for the laughs I had while watching. I would say give it a shot if you think it looks interesting to you. If the premise doesn't sound fun though, I would say move on. There are certainly better comedy animes out there.
