As U.K. network ITV launches an external review into the circumstances surrounding “This Morning” anchor Phillip Schofield’s “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a young employee, many are wondering how the long-time host – a staple of British daytime television – went from ITV golden boy to Tellyland exile in a matter of weeks.
It’s a storyline that could have been ripped from Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s Apple TV+ hit “The Morning Show.” An older male anchor handpicks a glamorous, younger and – according to unkind whispers – malleable blonde to be his co-host after falling out with her predecessor.
Fifteen years later the young blonde (reportedly) turns on him, ousting him from the show following a string of scandals that were beginning to taint her brand. But her victory may be short-lived as the married male anchor drops the bombshell that he had an affair with a young...

Did fantasy dramas Chocky, The Box Of Delights and Dramarama leave an impression on you as a kid? Revisit those nightmares here...
Spooky, always magical and occasionally downright scary dramas are the bedrock of kids' television. For me, the pinnacle of this sort of programme was reached in the 1980s. The decade saw a new approach to both traditional and contemporary drama by both UK broadcasters: ITV committed itself to regular seasons of children's plays with Dramarama (1983-89), a kind of youth version of the venerable BBC Play For Today (1970-84), which saw the 1988 television debut of one David Tennant. The BBC, building upon an impressive body of work from the early 70s onwards, produced some of its very best family drama in this era, embracing cutting edge technology to bring treats like The Box Of Delights (1984) and The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (1988) to the screen.

Happy birthday, Cbbc! 30-years-old and still going strong, judging by this nostalgia-powered clip starring the likes of Edd the Duck and Gordon the Gopher.
Confronted with three decades' worth of the finest children's entertainment, it was a hard task to corral the Digital Spy team into picking the very best - or at least their favourite - Cbbc programmes.
So here are our picks, from ChuckleVision to Byker Grove and back again, which means you'll have to let us know yours in the comment box below.
1. The Animals of Farthing Wood (1992-1995)
This animated adaptation of Colin Dann's novel was so good it could have been on at any time of day instead of part of the Cbbc lineup.
It was gripping, heartbreaking and funny, and you found yourself getting perhaps too-attached to the likes of Fox, Badger, Toad and Mole (a tear may have been shed on several occasions). Though,...

In celebration of Cbbc reached its 30th birthday, one of its biggest stars made an appearance on BBC Breakfast today.
Past presenter Andy Crane was reunited with his co-host Edd the Duck - who didn't always have a green mohawk, thanks Twitter - for a little catch-up.
Photo of our morning! @billturnbull and @louiseminchin with @andycrane64 and #eddtheduck ! #CBBCis30 pic.twitter.com/7ztFn89xa8
— BBC Breakfast (@BBCBreakfast) September 9, 2015
The appearance of course had Twitter users feeling all nostalgic:
Edd The Duck Fact: Edd the Duck made his debut in 1988, with a bald head, until he 'went to the hairdressers' returning with a green mohawk.

Happy birthday #EddTheDuck and Sega #Dreamcast.
I used to like the Edd the Duck milkshakes. Yes they were a thing.

@damienstjohn does anybody remember the rap style video #EddTheDuck did? Used to have it on VHS... Need it back in my life.

Children's BBC turns 30 tomorrow and Hacker T Dog is throwing a party.
In a fun new video, Hacker calls up some old friends - including Zoe Ball, Andi Peters, Dick and Dom, Gordon the Gopher and Edd the Duck - to invite them along, although the attempt doesn't prove entirely successful.
Hacker's Birthday Bash: 30 Years of Children's BBC airs tomorrow (September 9) at 6pm on the Cbbc TV channel.
The 60-minute live programme will see more than 20 former presenters and puppets returning.
Andi Peters will reunite with Edd the Duck in the Broom Cupboard for the special, while Zoe Ball and Phillip Schofield will look back on their time on the channel.
Viewers have been warned that Gordon the Gopher "has been off the rails for several years", with Cheryl Taylor, Controller of Cbbc, saying of the celebration: "Even Gordon is welcome - as long as he's a good gopher!

Gordon the Gopher could be about to launch 2015's biggest comeback... but only if he's on his best behaviour.
Gordon is one of many Cbbc favourites coming together on Wednesday, September 9 to mark the 30th anniversary of the first Children's BBC Presentation.
The BBC have said that while Phillip Schofield's former sidekick "has been off the rails for several years", he will clean up his act to introduce himself to a new generation of Cbbc viewers.
Cheryl Taylor, Controller of Cbbc, said: "We'd be delighted to welcome all the stars back to Cbbc for this special event. Even Gordon is welcome - as long as he's a good gopher! So he's on the guest list... for now."
