The interview with the drag queen "Cinnamon St. Michael" from Baltimore proved to be so long and interesting that a separate film, just about her life was made.
Producers tried to incorporate an interview with Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) as she is an inspiration to many drag queens but she was not interested.
Initially the film was supposed to cover much more of RuPaul's Drag Race but the filmmaker deliberately wanted to make a product different from the TV show.
This film took almost 2 years to make.
It was a strict policy that none of the film's subjects were paid to participate. Therefore certain desired drag queens had to be left out because of the fact that they (or their representatives) wanted compensation to appear in the film.
