According to Argentinian director Diego Lerman, domestic violence is ingrained structurally in Argentinian society as it reaches all classes of the population.He goes on to add that it is not only in Argentina but everywhere around the world that it originated with the creation of societies and has been able to last ever since. It is with great distress that viewers watch how a birthday party celebration enjoyed by a small boy turns out to be a short affair as his mother is a victim of domestic violence.The mother has to prepare herself well to find a secured place to be able to raise her son alone.As a title of a film,'Refugiado' gives an idea of refugees,their sufferings and complex world.A lot of mystery surrounds this film as nobody can guess that it is a film about a mother and her son in Argentinian capital Buenos Aires.There is a documentary type feel to this film as it has been shot by a Polish DOP Wojciech Staron who specializes in shooting documentary films.
