High aspirations with a budget that was far too small

This originally was the first Lithuanian motion picture film to feature extensive use of animation/visual effects/CGI. It was developed from a great educational TV show for kids called "Gustavo Enciklopedija" that continues to run to this day.

I originally saw this movie at the cinema when I was 8 years old. I didn't really like it, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I rewatched it recently. The plot is illogical and boring without a real 3-act system, the acting was also unbearable. One of the main advertised points of the movie, the visual effects/CGI, was produced with a relatively small budget and a tight timeline, by a relatively small team of VFX artists. As a result, the movie has a poor visual quality with terrible aliasing (that was probably resulted by rushed and cheap rendering solutions), poorly rotoscoped/chroma-keyed edges, and not very great compositing. I know VFX/CGI is not easy to make, especially on the budget, but maybe something should have been done differently to result in a better overall experience to the viewers.

Also, while watching the credits I noticed that one of the two directors, Vaidas Lekavicius, was really behind the most of the movie, having too many roles, that could have resulted in an overall poo quality of the movie.

I hope that one day Lithuania is going to have an all-Lithuanian made film with great VFX/CGI, acting, and of course plot, all in one film.
