December 1 : This P.Sheshadri film shows that there is bound to be something fishy when a big shot comes to visit an ordinary man in a small village !!!!

It is not so often that viewers get a chance to see a helicopter in an Indian regional film. This might have something to do with budgetary constraints. However,December 1 seems to have broken that rule by depicting the chief minister of a state who would like to meet ordinary people by making the most of the limited time from his busy schedule. This feet can be achieved only by traveling fast in a helicopter. It is with great finesse that director P.Sheshadri depicts how ordinary, poor people are fooled by false hopes. The hopes in question come from an ordinary man who is getting a chance to be an influential figure in his village. However,as it is said that one who chooses to remain a king for a day has to remain a fool for a lifetime. This is something which also happens in the monotonous life of this film's protagonist.Based on a true incident which took place in Karnataka state,December 1 also shows the extent to which media can downgrade itself by twisting anything to suit its own personal interests. As a film with umpteen comic scenes which depict the callousness of India's political system especially its remorseless apathy towards poor people,December 1 entertains a lot as it makes effective use of humor. It presents a true picture of corruption in northern Karnataka which has remained backward for a long time.December 1 ran to packed houses during 19th International Film Festival of Kerala 2014.This is Mr.P.Sheshadri's eight feature film. He holds the unique distinction of winning seven consecutive national awards in India for his films.
