If ever an episode was needed to help secure a second series (although that had long since been done,) this was it. Series one concludes in real style with this fantastic episode.
There are two noticeably different things about this one, first of all, story, Sidney is left to fend for himself, as his gritty partner in crime is otherwise engaged. Secondly, the tone of this episode is very different, dare I say it I was reminded of another crime solving man of the cloth, Father Brown. There are several moments of humour here, Mrs Maguire's fainting scene was hilarious.
It's a very good mystery, you were left guessing the solution right up until the end. Amanda remains as frustrating a character as ever, playing poor Sidney along.
This was a great way to round off the first series.
