The film as a whole is out of the range of my understanding but it appears to be edgy and humorous interspersed with some of the most intense and beautiful musical and dance performances a foreigner could hope to see representing India. The mixes of these songs are unfortunately hot, the picture quality is degraded, but I appreciate the devotional aspects which are touching. The Music parts are almost a different movie than the rest of the b-acting sequences. Rama Narayanan has left us, but I am definitely going to look into more musical productions by the composer Devanesan Chokkalingam, aka 'Deva' because this style of music is just bonkers in the right way.
The saving grace of this film is that it documents a segment of devotional culture, music, dance, colors, noise and chaos, and of course (spoiler) the adorable little kid trying to sing the theme song at the end, c'mon don't be stingy reviewers, so much talent went into this whether it personally rubs you the right way or not.
