Jorah Mormont and Tyrion Lannister approach the ancient city of Valyria and, after witnessing something quite incredible, they are set upon by the Stone Men, and Mormont does not escape unscathed. - Ramsay Bolton enjoys telling his mistress, the kennel master's daughter Myranda, she won't become his bride because high-born Sansa is now his dynastic duty, then both play a cruel game on her and Theon 'Riek', stirring Roose to announce his wife Wanda is expecting, hopefully a son and heir, and disgusted Sansa to take note of the anonymous promise for help at a candle sign from Brienne. Jon Sow risks splitting up the Night Watch by promising no longer cultivated land to the Wildlings if they stop raiding and join the winter war, but Tormund can only accept if Jon accompanies him to convince the remaining free tribes. Stannis lets them use his fleet, but takes the army on a campaign to reconquer the North, on the road to Kings Landing. Jorah hoped to avoid pirate danger by sailing past Valyria, but Tyrion is nearly killed by the attacking 'stone men', and after they beach-up without boat, Jorah can only hide being infected with Grey skin disease. After the Sons of the Harpy managed to kill Ser Barristan and badly wound Grey Worm, who feels utterly guilty, Deanerys's misrule reaches a new low of injustice, arresting all heads of Mireen's thirteen old master families, threatening to feed them to her dragons, getting one arbitrarily incinerated, only to apologize next day to their groveling spokesman Hizdahr zo Loraq and announcing to wed him and reinstating pit fights, albeit 'for free men only'.—KGF Vissers

- Jon seeks Aemon's advice, who counsels him to trust his instincts and "kill the boy" inside him and "become the man." Jon frees Tormund and offers to allow the Wildlings to settle south of the Wall in return for an alliance with the Night's Watch when the White Walkers arrive. Tormund tells Jon that most of the wildlings have fled to the town of Hardhome and that Jon must accompany him to speak with them himself. Jon's plan is unpopular with the rest of the Night's Watch, but Jon persists.

Irritated by Ramsay's petty cruelty, Roose tells him that he and Walda are expecting a boy, much to Ramsay's chagrin. However, Roose later reassures Ramsay of his position and requests his help in defeating Stannis.
Grey Worm survives his clash with the Sons of the Harpy, but Barristan succumbs to his wounds. Daenerys orders Hizdahr and other leaders of the great families of Meereen to be brought before her, and orders her dragons, Rhaegal and Viserion to burn one of them as an intimidation tactic while imprisoning the others. She later visits Hizdahr in his cell and informs him that not only will she reopen the fighting pits, she will make peace with the people of Meereen by marrying him. Meanwhile, Missandei visits Grey Worm as he recuperates. Grey Worm admits his fear of never seeing Missandei again then she kiss him.
