- A serial killer's twisted mind is pried open by an equally dangerous foe on his ride through the afterlife. Grim's murderous past is played out before him while Judge searches for answers to the riddles of their madness.
- Grim is a tortured soul, haunted by inner demons that drive him to kill. Grim finds he can no longer contain his appetite for murder after befriending an obnoxiously vile drifter he picks up on the side of the road. Grim's rage is triggered by the drifter and in a blind fit of anger Grim brutally stabs the drifter to death. Trying to make amends with himself, Grim decides that he should come clean to his fiancé, Anne. Anne refuses to accept him as a serial killer, triggering Grim to snap once again and take her life. With nothing left to live for, Grim embarks on a murderous rampage, killing an unknown number of people, until one fateful night, he is stopped by a reckless hunter with just as much to lose. The hunter murders Grim and sends him into the "afterscape," a purgatory-like parallel dimension where he is escorted via car by a psychotic chauffeur known only as Judge. Judge pries into Grim's past, poking at his sensibility, driving Grim into wild fits of rage. With no means to fight back, Grim is helpless as Judge sifts through the hitherto undisturbed memoirs through Grim's notepad. Judge is able to uncover Grim's darkest secrets and passions, and with that, reveal the demons that will come to haunt Grim for the rest of eternity. Author: John Amaruso—John Amaruso
