Nadia El Fani can break any subject
ersbel21 February 2015
This movie deserves 1 star. I give it an 8 star for the actions of Femen.

Nadia El Fani can break any subject. Laïcité, Inch'Allah! was a good starting point. A lot of potential. It turns out a cute home movie that can be named 'Me in Tunis' just as well. So what does she do this time? It takes the Femen actions and nothing. Maybe for a regular French film maker would have been excusable. But after Laïcité, Inch'Allah! maybe aggressive, violent are not the best words to describe a few women showing their breasts written all over. Maybe there is a difference between the priests beating women and the women who hurt with a stiff nipple.

Also, after seeing Laïcité, Inch'Allah! and having the ex dictator of Tunis presented as the friend of the islamists in 2011, showing him as a mild progressist in 2013 sounds ridiculous. Even more so when you care to insert him just after the Egyptian president who laughed in the face of the Muslim Brotherhood, the one who scares Nadia hard enough she only films them from a safe distance.

And do what? To insert three grannies who have lead their blond well fed grandchildren back to school and talk about the days when they were cool and wild? Disgusting. One is kept talking about her concerns: who does the dishes at home when Femen fights for owning their bodies. Of course, no good catholic feminist granny would do such a thing as pose naked next to some foreigners, right? Because reproductive rights and fighting the burka is not something for an old lady who was "there" in '68. And god forbid! Children might be watching.

I hope someone else will rise to make the story of Femen.
