This was the first installment of the contest. Female employees at the New York World's Fair compete for the title of Television Girl, sponsored by RCA Victor. The girls were judged on their TV photographic appeal. They were filmed at the Cavalcade of the Centaurs show while the judges, seated in front of the RCA television exhibit, watched. The winner, chosen on June 17th, was Caryl Smith, 21 years of age, an acrobat from "The Amazons" show at the Fair. Her prize was an RCA Victor television set.
