Beautiful portrait of the man and singer

Warning: Spoilers
Magnus Gertten has, indeed, produced many likewise splendid documentaries, many of them chronicling the lives of other famous musicians such as the famous Swedish folk singer Cornelis Vreeswijk.

This time, he tackles the life of immensely popular singer Björn Afzelius, one of the lead singers of 70s prog band Hoola Bandola, and later a very impressive and acclaimed folk singer in his own right. One could almost call him the John Lennon of Sweden, being a very politically involved person with a mysterious and somewhat tragic past, and whose life was unfortunately cut short.

It is indeed a very dramatic, thourough and interesting outlook, that blends the dramatic and documentary genres in Gertten's usual ways. Very well paced, cut and edited - and a very nice usage of the splendid music.

Overall, definitely an incredible portrait of an incredible man, and very much recommended for fans of the singer, and for anyone who likes Gertten's works, and just wants some incredible filmmaking!
