I can't wait to play with my dolls.
nogodnomasters17 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
A prom night gag on Lorraine Mayfield (Georgina Dugdale) leaves her paralyzed. Frankie (Becca Hirani) was left holding the bag for the group and did time. Eight years later the whole group is invited to a reunion. At this point it becomes a who-dun-it as people are killed off one by one by a masked assailant.

The ritual involved the use of dolls which were given to each person in the beginning. They play a game called "bluff" where the scheme was discussed. It would have worked better if they had elected someone they didn't like Prom Queen and dumped pig's blood on her.

The film was so-so. Dialogue not that great. Lacked light moments to break things up. Watchable, but don't have high expectations.

Guide: F-word, brief sex, FF nudity (Charlene Cooper)

Decent Enough Entertaining Slasher
icocleric8 August 2022
I thought it was an okay slasher film, with a decent twist. I think fans of the genre will probably find it fun, but it doesn't really bring anything new.

The acting is pretty well done, and the overall production quality seems decent enough. The killer has very reasonable motives for what they're doing, so it doesn't seem overly silly or anything like that. It's not the type of slasher with comedic over the top deaths, so it probably won't be as entertaining if that's what you look for, because the tone is a bit more serious than that.

I found it overall enjoyable.

A learning experience
annique-8301911 June 2020
The movie itself is a bit nonsensical, but I did come away from it with with some fun facts. First British people have difficulty using door knobs! Who knew? Yet on multiple occurrences someone would ineffectually beat on a door, yelling "Open up!" without even trying a knob. Secondly, they have the strength of a 95 year old, and not a very spry 95 at that with the slapping and pushing. Thirdly, British people have rather low HP, collapsing a few yards of running. Stunned to immobility after a hit or a push. All things I never knew before! Oh, and there's a twist at the end

Horrible

This movies is just awful. The crappy cinematography, the crappy acting, the lighting, the bad make up, all of it is just awful. I kept waiting for it to improve and nope. It never does. I turned it off about an hour and 15 mins into it cause I just couldn't take anymore.

Wow, this was just terrible...

Sure, I was lured in by this 2016 horror movie's cover, as it seemed like something that could make for an interesting movie.

First of all, the storyline told in "Fox Trap" was just beyond boring and pointless. And I lost interest in the movie not even fully 30 minutes into the ordeal. Nothing worthwhile happened, and there was no drive behind the movie.

And then there was the characters, which just felt like cardboard cutouts that had no purpose, no story or no motivation to be in the movie. I am sure that the actresses and actors in the movie were putting on their best performances, but they had everything stacked against them; the storyline was rubbish, the characters were rubbish.

What writer Scott Jeffrey was hoping to accomplish with this movie is beyond me, because the storyline fell short of proving even remotely worthwhile spending time on watching. This was just a swing and a miss. And I can't claim to say that director Jamie Weston was doing a great job at bringing the story to life to the screen.

If you enjoy horror movies, you need to avoid "Fox Trap", because it seriously has nothing but pointlessness and boredom to offer.

My rating of this 2016 abysmal attempt of a horror movie lands on a generous two out of ten stars, as there was something good enough to the production value of the movie, but that was about it.

Low rent Scream cookie-cutter
argylx11 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If you've seen one of these movies, you've seen a hundred. Fox Trap adds nothing new to the bog-standard "let's do something kind of like Scream" slasher formula. This one lifts more than a few ideas from the original, including two-killers-working-together, killer-in-a-mask, tenuous revenge plot, final girl, killer pretends to be one of the victims at one point and fakes their own death, etcetera etcetera. Poor production quality, the lighting was awful, dialogue contrived....think Cherry Falls, Urban Legend and the like but set your expectations down another level from those, still.

Not quite a B movie, more like a C- movie.

Decent slasher with a nice twist
indyj124 November 2019
While the movie isn't of itself particularly special, it is one of the better slasher movies I've seen in years. The story isn't all that original, but it's a faithful slasher formula, with solid acting and directing. Plus, the killer turned out to be a nice twist on the usual reveal.

A Killer Among Them.
parry_na14 January 2022
A girl falls foul of a horrendous prank and ends up disabled. Five years later, those responsible are brought together for a somewhat ill-advised reunion. The most decent of this bunch is Josh (Richard Summers-Calvert), boyfriend to Frankie (Becca Hirani). Of them all though, Connie (Kate Lister) is my favourite, because she's absolutely awful to everyone from start to finish with virtually no redeeming moments whatsoever throughout the picture

I felt that things got a little confused somewhat through the 97 minute running time, but became clearer toward the finale - and what a finale it is. There's a really good twist at the end. I observed that when the villains are revealed, they suddenly develop potty mouths, as to underline their descent into evil!

This is very nicely filmed and features some mostly fine performances. I noticed some of the dialogue was occasionally clunky, and possibly five or ten minutes might have been shaved off the running time - but otherwise, I had a good time with this. 7 out of 10.

Warning: Spoilers
Not horrible. Not great. It sort of felt like watching what whatever amount of seasons Pretty Little Liars was had been condensed into a movie-without the amazing Hanna zingers. Oh geez just look at the end screen graphics with the "ssshh" girl and dirty faces.

No pun intended - horror movies like this one are about the killers and the motive they may have. So you've seen something like this one and the resolution will probably not surprise you too much. On the other hand, if you do not think too much about it, some twists may get you.

Overall a decent effort, nice effects and another story about bullying. Of course the mother of them all being Carrie - which I have to rewatch one of these days. Maybe watch the sequel that isn't supposed to be any good too. But back to this: we get a lot of people who played a prank on someone ... well in a "I know what you did last summer" situation ... again, not original but if you suspend your disbelief, there are worse things out there.
