Director Christopher Downie and his producer Brett Murray chose this as their second project due to it's use of a single static set. Having previously worked on 'Shooting Clerks', the duo spent months trying to lock down and film in various locations from St Andrews, Scotland to Highlands, New Jersey.
Based on an un-produced web series of the same name. Downie played both John and Stubby in the pilot episode, 'Dog Bites Man' while Murray appeared in the short as the intruder character.
Various plot points and characters carry on over from devised episodes but the overall story was created exclusively for the feature film.
The film makes use of Auld Reekie Media's repertoire of American actors.
Like 'Shooting Clerks', the interiors for 'Dog and the Dead Guy' were shot in Scotland while the exteriors, of which their are few, were shot in New Jersey.
