The Devil wins a chess game. However, the move where he states "Checkmate" cannot be checkmate. When he makes this move, he moves his bishop. His bishop can then be taken by the opponent's bishop, thus it cannot be checkmate that way. While this could open up his queen to take his opponent's king (the entirety of the board is not visible), the opponent clearly has a knight which can block the taking of his king if this is the case. Thus, the move is not a checkmate.
In the chess play scene, there is no checkmate. The black bishop the Devil has moved to put the white king in check can easily be captured by the white bishop next to it. Moreover, when the war veteran put money on the table, we can see that the white bishop has been relocated to correct that mistake, but still there is no checkmate. In fact this is impossible as the black king would have been under immediate attack by the white fool and forced to move to the left before anything else could happen.
When the cell phone is tracked by the police the screen shows the coordinates of Houston as 15º13'40.6"N 306º41'42"W. 306º is not a valid longitude and even if the longitude was correct, 15ºN would be off the Pacific coast in southern Mexico. The correct coordinates for Houston are approximately 29º54'N 95º25'W.
Network broadcast standards require that all on-screen lat/long coordinates be in the middle of a body of water.
