This edition of "30 for 30" relates to the movie "Goodfellas"--as they both are about the same folks and some of their same 'antics'. But, the documentary has about 65,000 less obscenities!
"Playing for the Mob" is about a point-shaving controversy from 1980. Apparently, at least one (probably several) player for Boston College took money from mobster gamblers to help them beat the point spread and earn a buttload of money. However, although one guy admitted that his part, EVERYONE else hemmed and hawed in the film---making you wonder WHO and exactly WHAT they did! This isn't necessarily a terrible thing--the film still is well worth seeing. But if you want to see a smoking gun, even today there isn't a lot of clarity about this one. Very interesting and well worth seeing.
